About the Role:
This role is responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of existing and new projects to ensure they meet the highest standards of excellence. This position plays a significant role in the division's transformative efforts, establishing effective operational practices both internally and externally. The position holder drives commercial success by delivering compelling commercial bids and proposals to OQ customers across various segments while managing a portfolio of projects. Strong commercial ownership and effective program and resource management are essential for coordinating diverse project components and maintaining OQ's competitive edge in the market. This role requires expertise in large-scale Telco and ICT projects, bid and contract management, telecom B2B offerings, proposal pricing, and resource management. Additionally, the role holder will establish and oversee best practices in project and commercial management, acting as a vital authority and knowledge multiplier in the B2B sector. A key responsibility is to enhance the technical capabilities and hands-on approach of project managers, ensuring alignment with OQ's product and business objectives.
Functional Context:
Ooredoo’s Business BU is a critical part of the company’s first line customer facing activities for all Business Accounts and has a significant role to play in long term business value creation through product design, achievement of sales revenue, profit and customer satisfaction, as defined in the annual business plans. The Commercial and Project Management department is an integral part of the Business Solutions Division. Its mandate is to enhance commercial focus and ownership during the proposal management process, ensuring that OQ can compete for more deals and improve the conversion rate with favorable conditions. The department oversees the delivery of larger, complex deals (known as Mega Projects) by adhering to rigorous project management practices that encompass the technical, commercial, and operational aspects of the customer-proposed solution. The team is also charged commercial and project/program management frameworks and tools to ensure high-quality outcomes, mitigate risks, and provide progress reports to management. They produce high-quality RFx responses and proposals within deadlines, ensuring OQ's market competitiveness. Additionally, they manage client solution pricing, incorporating OQ products, managed services, bespoke solutions, advisory and consulting, partner offerings, support, and various SLA levels. Achieving these goals involves extensive internal and external collaboration and stakeholder management.
Role Accountabilities:
• Define and articulate the strategic vision for commercial and project management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and market dynamics.
• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with senior leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project and bid goals.
• Establish and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and commercial effectiveness, driving a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Identify and assess potential risks within project portfolios and commercial bids, developing proactive strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure compliance.

• Supervise the commercial elements of proposals, emphasizing timelines, financial conditions, risks, and adherence to organizational objectives to elevate bid quality.
• Co-lead high-stakes negotiations with clients, securing terms that optimize revenue and profitability while fostering long-term partnerships.
• Strategically manage scope changes, ensuring alignment of change orders with project contracts and client expectations for successful execution.
• Provide executive-level guidance to project teams on commercial and contractual matters, instilling best practices across all project phases.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring adherence to guidelines, financial milestones, and budgets while implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Establish and implement robust quality assurance processes to uphold delivery standards for both internal OQ products/services and vendor-managed projects, including regular audits to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead comprehensive project progress reporting, focusing on financial performance and providing high-level strategic recommendations to enhance overall project outcomes.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring adherence to guidelines and targets while implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Direct project progress reporting, focusing on financial milestones and budgets, and provide strategic recommendations.
• Implement quality assurance processes to uphold project delivery standards covering both OQ internal products/services as well as direct through vendors., including regular audits for improvement.
• Clearly communicate deliverables, manage scope creep, and address variances from original requirements.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze financial data to seek ways to maximize revenue, analyzing profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization across projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed, cross functional project plans & schedules, identifying risk and interdependencies as well as contract variations/additional work orders and the like to maximize Ooredoo revenues from all projects and minimise losses.
• Lead a team of project managers, bid specialists, and pricing analysts to secure new business opportunities, particularly within large enterprise industry verticals and government segments.
• Work closely with the Contract Management team to develop standard T&Cs and contractual requirements, both on customer and vendor back-to-back, as well as in special customer conditions for specific cases.
• Jointly observe the delivery milestone with commercial implications on customer and vendor side as well.
• Coordinate the scoping, delivery milestones and costing of the offered solution, products and services with Product Hub, Professional and Managed Services as well as operations for delivery and support.
• Maintain the commercial authority during the implementation phase advising project management and delivery teams on terms on conditions with customer and external partners and vendors.
• Set and track the ongoing project budget, margin levels, risk, resource forecasts and financial reports.
• Manage and coach commercial and project team resources to ensure short- and long-term profitability through excellence in commercial strategy and execution.
• Provide the right resources to ensure optimal process execution through effective and efficient human resource planning.
• Participate in contract negotiations with Ooredoo clients ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and profitability targets.
• Oversee commercial performance of projects and procedures to calibrate best practices and continual improvement techniques.
• Lead and mentor the commercial and project management team to ensure personal and professional growth for each member, while developing their skills to deliver high quality Commercial results and hands-on Project Management results for OQ customers.
Minimum Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or Engineering
Minimum Experience, Essential Knowledge & Skills:
12 years' experience in a similar role. Eexpertise in commercial and project management within a telecommunications or ICT vendor organization. Experience in managing large and complex projects, pricing and large bids, procurement for government or large enterprises, or within the commercial team of a system integrator are essential
