- Relevant College or University qualifications to min Bachelor's level or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum 7 years of job-related experience in an airline.
- Demonstrable experience in project management and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of airline operational processes especially related to fuel.
- Good understanding of Flight Operations functions and regulatory requirements.
- Good grasp of commercial impacts and financial/budgetary work.
- Knowledge of specialist airline operations systems (including optimisation) systems.
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills.
- Highly developed planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven negotiating and influencing skills.
- Excellent English communication (written and spoken) and facilitation/presentation skills.

Description About the role: Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations team as a Fuel Conservation & Efficiency Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a Fuel Conservation & Efficiency Manager, you will support the development and effective delivery of fuel saving projects throughout Qatar Airways functions by providing practical project management support to managers of fuel saving projects. You will play a critical role in maintaining project management discipline and in holding the managers of fuel saving projects to account as they set and achieve realistic saving targets as well as supporting in fuel tendering analysis and contracts management.
Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include
- Explore, identity, evaluate, introduce and implement policies, procedure and technologies that will continuously deliver reduced fuel, whilst actively contributing to ongoing initiatives that can demonstrate reductions to Qatar Airways global emissions footprint.
- Lead the assessment of the Aircraft Fuel and Emissions Programm’s progress toward realising benefits through assessing all the projects in fuel program including new projects, and being accountable to understand the impact of each project on the program and for the method used to calculate the benefits.
- Support to centralize and manage Flight Operations fuel related projects in order to ensure implementation within the timelines defined.
- Continuously seek process improvements across stakeholders’ group that will reduce operating costs and enhance customer experience, adapt a collaborative approach to seek fuel operations improvements and an audit, monitoring and reporting mechanism that ensures compliance to implementation of initiatives and procedures established.
- Oversee fuel data gathering & sharing of information cross company for commercial and social benefits and manage the collection and analysis of fuel related feedback in order to improve fuel planning.
- Develop and manage effective methods of communication that will increase and maintain high levels of awareness for fuel conservation and Weight reduction initiatives across the group.
- Responsible for supervising regular checks to ensure proper compliance of implementation of fuel conservation and efficiency initiatives procedures.
- Responsible for managing the fuel Optimisation monitoring system and the quality of the data.
