Job Description/Specification:
Syntys is a leading data center provider specializing in the design, construction, and management of data centers, catering to hyperscalers, Al infrastructure, and colocation wholesale providers across the MENA region. With presence in more countries than any other provider in the region, Syntys is committed to delivering scalable, secure, and efficient digital infrastructure solutions.
As a Senior Construction Project Manager (Data Centers), you will step into a pivotal client-side leadership role, seamlessly integrating with executive teams to drive massive-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This isn't just about managing timelines; it's about strategic governance. You will take full ownership of the project lifecycle- managing program, cost, and exceptional quality standards-while effortlessly bridging the communication gap between key project stakeholders and the PMC. If you have a proven track record of steering complex data center builds to successful conclusions, we want you at the helm.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Governance: Provide overarching leadership to set up project teams, establish robust controls, implement quality standards, and offer critical
buildability and technical advice.
• Communication & Liaison: Serve as the central focal
point and strategic "filter" between the Client, consultants, and contractors to ensure fast, transparent, and effective information flow.
Risk & Change Control: Proactively monitor the project Risk Plan (contingency and drawdowns) and rigorously manage the Change Control system.
• Design Management: Facilitate design team/ contractor procurement (including bid and contract placement) and manage the design process to ensure flawless execution of client requirements.
Site Operations: Oversee the release of timely CAls (Confirmation of Architect's Instructions) with actionable build data, and strictly manage the coordination of Health & Safety issues.
Financial Oversight: Manage construction budgets with a sharp focus on cost control, providing weekly financial updates, variance tracking, and risk/ opportunity logs to senior leadership.
Milestone Tracking: Formalize and track detailed delivery programmes, paying critical attention to high-level milestones, enabling works, and specialized sequences (e.g., BMS & Commissioning).
Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the bridge
between specialized project tracks, maintaining close liaison with move teams, security, maintenance, IT, AV, and end-users.
Contract Completion: Formally verify that all works are completed in strict accordance with contract parameters and manage the design team's snagging/ de-snagging process.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure full compilation of O&M manuals, Health & Safety files, and all necessary witnessing/testing documentation.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications & Experience): Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; Arabic language capability is a strong advantage.
Industry Veteran: Minimum of 10+ years of
construction management experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to data center construction or complex technology infrastructure projects.
Full-Lifecycle Mastery: A proven track record of steering large-scale projects through all phases: design, construction, and commissioning (Cx).
• Critical Environments: Deep technical understanding of data center infrastructure, including cooling systems, critical power, fire suppression, and security systems.
