The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring these technical activities to ensure that all work meets project specifications, quality standards, client requirements, and health and safety regulations.

This position is suited to an experienced technical professional with a strong background in scaffolding and protective coating operations within the Oil and Gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sectors. Candidates with experience on major industrial projects in the Middle East, particularly those involving QatarEnergy or LNG operations, will have an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Scaffolding Planning and Supervision

The Scaffolding and Painting Technical Professional will oversee scaffolding activities required for construction, maintenance, and shutdown operations. Responsibilities include reviewing scaffolding requirements and ensuring that design, erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling activities follow approved procedures and applicable regulations.

The role also involves coordinating with construction, maintenance, and HSE teams to provide safe access solutions, verifying that scaffolding materials and equipment meet project specifications, and conducting site inspections to identify unsafe conditions or technical non-conformances.

Painting, Blasting and Protective Coatings

The position requires close supervision of surface preparation activities, including abrasive blasting, cleaning, and other preparation methods. The professional will monitor industrial painting and protective coating applications to ensure that corrosion protection systems are installed according to approved project procedures.

Additional responsibilities include checking coating inspection reports and quality documentation, ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommendations, and coordinating coating repairs and touch-up work when required.

They will ensure that site activities comply with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project quality requirements, and relevant international standards.

The role also involves working with QA/QC inspectors and client representatives during inspections and audits, providing technical guidance to contractors and site personnel, monitoring work progress, and preparing technical reports.

Health, Safety and Project Coordination

Maintaining a strong safety culture is an important part of this position. The professional will ensure that scaffolding and coating activities comply with KBR and client HSE requirements, promote correct PPE use, and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments.

They may also support incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions. Regular coordination with construction, maintenance, operations, QA/QC, and HSE teams will be necessary to manage manpower, equipment, materials, schedules, and project reporting.

  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas, petrochemical, LNG, refinery, or EPC projects.

  • Experience working on large-scale industrial projects in the Middle East is preferred.

  • Familiarity with QatarEnergy, LNG, or similar client projects is an advantage.

Required Technical Knowledge and Skills

Applicants should have practical knowledge of scaffolding systems, inspection requirements, surface preparation methods, abrasive blasting techniques, industrial painting, protective coating systems, and corrosion control principles.

A good understanding of asset integrity, international industry standards, project specifications, and HSE procedures is also important. The role requires strong technical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to review technical documents and prepare accurate progress reports.
