General Technician

Job Description/Specification:

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is seeking a General Technician to support the daily maintenance and engineering operations of its luxury resort. The position involves carrying out general repairs, preventive maintenance, and technical inspections to ensure that hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems remain safe and fully operational.

The successful candidate will provide maintenance support across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and engineering spaces. This role is suitable for technically minded individuals with basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance skills.

Key Responsibilities

The General Technician will assist the Engineering Department in maintaining the resort's facilities and responding to maintenance requirements.

Main duties include:

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building-related issues.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and guests.

• Assist with diagnosing and repairing hotel equipment and facilities.

• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and engineering facilities.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in good working condition.

• Support other engineering team members with repair and maintenance activities.

• Follow hotel safety procedures and ensure maintenance work is completed to the required standards.

• Report major equipment failures, defects, and safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor.

• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work.

• Support energy-saving initiatives and promote efficient equipment operation.

• Comply with health, safety, fire protection, and environmental regulations.

• Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests and colleagues.

Qualifications and Requirements
