Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced aviation or transportation professional for the senior leadership position of Head of Cargo Safety, Quality and Compliance in Doha, Qatar. The role is responsible for leading the governance, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance framework across Qatar Airways Cargo's global operations.
The successful candidate will oversee critical areas including operational safety, aviation security, dangerous goods, risk management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and operational standardisation. The position requires strategic leadership, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to maintain consistent operational standards across an international cargo network.

Key Responsibilities
The Head of Cargo Safety, Quality and Compliance will lead the development and implementation of governance strategies aligned with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and international industry standards.
Key duties include:

Develop and maintain the Cargo Operations compliance strategy across the global network.

Lead an integrated governance framework covering safety, security, dangerous goods, quality, and operational risk.

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, corporate, and industry requirements.

Promote a proactive safety and compliance culture through employee engagement, reporting, learning, and accountability.

Establish audit, assurance, monitoring, and performance review programmes to identify operational risks and weaknesses.

Oversee incident governance and corrective and preventive action programmes.

Manage the Cargo Operations Management System, ensuring policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently maintained.

Drive digitalisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance oversight.

Provide management reports and performance insights to support strategic decision-making.

Work closely with operational departments, regulatory authorities, handling partners, and industry stakeholders.

Support global operational standardisation and strengthen controls across the cargo network.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and at least eight years of relevant professional experience.

A background in the wider transportation industry, including airlines, shipping, rail, freight, or ground transportation.
