Job Description/Specification:
InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is seeking a Laundry Attendant to support the daily operations of its Laundry Department. The role ensures that hotel linen, guest clothing, and colleague uniforms are cleaned, processed, and handled according to the property’s quality, hygiene, and presentation standards.
Located along Doha’s longest private beach, the hotel features landscaped gardens, multiple restaurants, recreational facilities, a swimming pool, and Spa InterContinental. Laundry Attendants play an important behind-the-scenes role in maintaining the smooth operation of this luxury hospitality destination and supporting a high-quality guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Attendants help ensure an efficient and consistent laundry service by:

Sorting hotel linen, guest clothing, and colleague uniforms according to fabric, color, and care requirements.

Loading and unloading washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment.

Moving garments and linen between washing, drying, pressing, and finishing areas.

Assisting with ironing, folding, organizing, and storing clean items.

Using laundry chemicals and detergents in accordance with safety procedures.

Monitoring washing and drying cycles, including machine settings, temperatures, and water levels.

Inspecting linen and garments for stains, damage, or defects and reporting concerns to the supervisor.

Maintaining clean, organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas.

Handling linen and clothing carefully to prevent damage or loss.

Monitoring linen supplies and helping ensure clean items are available when needed.

Reporting equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, and workplace hazards.

Supporting colleagues during busy periods and completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
A high school education or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a hotel laundry or similar operation is an advantage, although candidates with a willingness to learn may also be considered.

Work Environment and Requirements
The position involves physical, hands-on work in a busy hotel laundry. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling laundry loads safely.
Flexibility is required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Employees must follow hotel health, safety, fire safety, hygiene, and operational policies, while helping reduce waste through the efficient use of water, energy, and laundry supplies.
