Job Description/Specification:

Boeing Global Services is seeking an experienced Apache Mechanical Technician – General to join the AH-64 Qatar Air Force Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

This opportunity is intended for aviation maintenance professionals with substantial hands-on experience working on AH-64D or AH-64E Apache helicopters. The successful candidate will perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, component replacement, and operational testing to support the Qatar Air Force's Apache fleet.

The role also involves preparing maintenance documentation, supporting aircraft airworthiness requirements, and providing on-the-job training and technical guidance to Qatar Air Force personnel. Candidates should have a strong understanding of aircraft mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, technical publications, and aviation safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Apache Aircraft Maintenance and Repairs

The Apache Mechanical Technician will carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on AH-64E aircraft.

Key duties include:

  • Removing, installing, servicing, and lubricating aircraft systems and components.

  • Maintaining engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls.

  • Preparing aircraft for inspections and scheduled maintenance checks.

  • Performing routine and special inspections of aircraft and related components.

  • Conducting maintenance operational checks and verifying system performance.

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical system faults.

  • Assembling, disassembling, modifying, replacing, and upgrading aircraft components.

  • Performing validation and verification testing after maintenance activities.

Technical Troubleshooting and Equipment Operations

The role requires the ability to use specialized tools and equipment to identify and resolve aircraft maintenance problems.

Responsibilities include using precision measuring tools, gauges, alignment fixtures, Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE), and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment (PGSE). The technician must also perform operator-level maintenance on applicable tools and support equipment.

Work must follow the relevant AH-64E technical publications, including the Qatar Air Force-specific Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), Operator's Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, and Checklist Manual.

Maintenance Records and Compliance

Accurate technical documentation is essential to the position.

The technician will prepare aircraft maintenance forms and records, document repair procedures and inspection results, and record applicable modifications and testing outcomes. The role also involves inspecting components and verifying repairs against flightworthiness requirements and applicable contractual and regulatory standards.

Training and Technical Support

An important part of the position is helping develop the technical capabilities of Qatar Air Force maintenance personnel.

The successful candidate will provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship in the use of technical publications, maintenance tools, test equipment, AGSE, PGSE, and other specialist equipment. The role also includes coordinating training activities to help personnel become effective AH-64E aircraft mechanics.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience working with AH-64D or AH-64E aircraft.

  • At least 3 years of experience using Unit Level Logistics System–Aviation (ULLS-A(E)) and making entries in the Enhanced Logbook Automation System (ELAS).

  • Successful completion of an appropriate U.S. Government armed forces aircraft maintenance course or equivalent civilian training.

Contractor factory training or other industry training may be considered as a substitute, subject to approval by the relevant U.S. Government representative.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are advantageous:

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licence or equivalent.

  • Experience as an Army Service School Instructor or equivalent civilian instructor.

  • Instructional experience involving aircraft electrical, avionics, armament, fire control, or Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) maintenance.

  • Experience or qualifications in another aviation maintenance specialty.

  • Previous work experience in Southwest Asia or desert operating environments.

Candidates should also be comfortable working under general direction, coordinating maintenance activities, and travelling domestically or internationally at short notice.

Employment is subject to meeting Qatar's labour and immigration requirements.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should apply through Boeing's official careers platform by searching for the Apache Mechanical Technician – General vacancy.

Applications are scheduled to be accepted until 8 November 2026. Candidates should ensure their application clearly demonstrates their AH-64D or AH-64E maintenance experience, ULLS-A(E) and ELAS knowledge, and relevant aircraft maintenance training.

Is This Apache Mechanical Technician Role Right for You?

This position is specifically suited to experienced Apache helicopter maintenance professionals rather than general aircraft mechanics. Candidates with substantial AH-64D or AH-64E experience, knowledge of aviation maintenance systems, and the ability to train other technicians may be well qualified for the opportunity.

The role may also appeal to aviation specialists seeking an international, locally hired position supporting Qatar Air Force operations at Al Udeid Air Base.
