Hamad International Airport (HIA) is seeking a Business Continuity and Risk Management professional to support the implementation and continuous improvement of MATAR's Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and risk management arrangements.
This opportunity is suited to professionals with experience in business continuity planning, risk assessments, crisis management, and operational resilience, particularly within the aviation industry.
The role focuses on ensuring that critical airport operations are properly assessed, documented, and prepared to respond to unexpected disruptions. The position also involves maintaining Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), departmental risk registers, and supporting documentation to strengthen the airport's overall resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)
The successful candidate will support the maintenance and continual improvement of MATAR's BCMS, ensuring that documentation and operational arrangements remain aligned with established requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

Maintaining BCMS documents, registers, templates, schedules, and supporting records.

Supporting an ISO 22301-aligned management system.

Monitoring departmental continuity activities and identifying overdue reviews or testing requirements.

Tracking corrective actions and highlighting issues requiring management attention.

Preparing BCMS performance information, trends, and outstanding actions for management reviews.

Supporting internal and external audits, assurance activities, and certification processes.

Maintaining accurate governance records for business continuity and risk management functions.

Researching developments in aviation resilience and recommending suitable improvements.
The role also contributes to the development of MATAR's integrated resilience operating model.
Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
A major responsibility is coordinating the Business Impact Analysis process across assigned Hamad International Airport departments.
The candidate will organise BIA workshops with business owners and departmental Business Continuity Champions to identify the operational consequences of potential disruptions.
This includes documenting:

Critical personnel, skills, and resources.

The specialist will review BIA submissions for completeness, consistency, and accuracy. They will also work with relevant departments to validate recovery requirements and ensure that changes in airport operations are reflected in continuity records.
Risk Management and Operational Resilience
The position supports risk management arrangements by helping departments identify operational threats, maintain risk information, and improve their preparedness for disruption.
Responsibilities include supporting departmental risk registers, monitoring continuity and risk performance, and providing accurate information to management for decision-making.
The role requires effective coordination with airport business units to ensure that continuity plans reflect actual operational requirements and dependencies.
Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum four years of job-related experience.

Business Continuity: Experience developing and implementing business continuity and risk management policies and processes.

Planning and Risk Assessment: Experience creating and implementing business continuity plans, strategies, solutions, and risk assessments for airport operations.

Standards Knowledge: Working knowledge of ISO 22301, ISO 22313, ISO 31000, incident management, emergency response, or recognised business continuity standards.

Industry Experience: Experience in business continuity and crisis management within airport operations or airlines.
Previous airport or airline experience is preferred.
Professional Certifications
The following professional qualifications are relevant to the position:
