Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott International, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support hotel engineering and maintenance operations. The Maintenance Technician contributes to guest satisfaction by resolving maintenance issues promptly and maintaining the quality of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment. Key Responsibilities
Guest Requests and Maintenance Support
The Maintenance Technician responds to guest repair requests and communicates professionally with guests and customers to resolve maintenance concerns.
Key duties include:

Troubleshooting and repairing guestroom equipment and fixtures.

Responding to plumbing issues, such as clogged drains and toilets.

Repairing electrical components, lamps, switches, and outlets.

Addressing maintenance needs involving vacuum cleaners, extension cords, internet devices, and other guestroom items.

Programming televisions and assisting with general engineering-related inventory duties.
A courteous, service-oriented approach is essential when working in guest areas.
Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Care
The technician performs preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment. This includes cleaning, lubrication, visual inspections, and identifying equipment that requires repair or replacement.
Responsibilities also include:

Maintaining maintenance inventory and requesting parts and supplies as needed.

Identifying and operating equipment and building utility shut-off valves.

Supporting energy conservation and basic temperature-control tasks.

General Repairs and Building Maintenance
The role requires basic knowledge or the ability to develop skills across several maintenance disciplines, including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and general building maintenance.
Tasks may include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, replacing light bulbs and air-conditioning filters, and cleaning repair areas thoroughly after work is completed. The technician may also perform repairs involving interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
Safety and Workplace Standards
The Maintenance Technician must follow company safety and security policies, complete required training, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
Other responsibilities include reporting hazards, accidents, injuries, and maintenance problems; storing flammable materials correctly; protecting company assets; maintaining confidentiality; and keeping a clean, professional appearance.
The role involves physical activity, including lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds (approximately 23 kg) without assistance. Heavier tasks require assistance. Employees may also need to use stairs, ramps, ladders, and perform bending, reaching, and twisting movements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Preferred qualifications include:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Some experience in general maintenance.

Experience with interior and exterior surface preparation and painting.

Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is an advantage.

No supervisory experience required.
Required qualification: A valid driver’s licence.
