Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Technician – Workshops to join its Technical Engineering team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will specialise in the repair and overhaul of Airpack heat exchangers, supporting aircraft component maintenance and ensuring compliance with aviation safety and airworthiness requirements.
This position requires hands-on experience with Boeing 777 or Boeing 787 heat exchangers, relevant company authorisation, and a strong understanding of component maintenance procedures. The technician will be responsible for certifying completed repair and overhaul work, meeting turnaround time (TAT) targets, and ensuring components are maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Aircraft Technician will carry out and certify aircraft component maintenance activities while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Main responsibilities include:

Performing repair and overhaul of Airpack heat exchangers.

Certifying heat exchanger repair and overhaul processes in accordance with authorised privileges.

Meeting workshop turnaround time standards and component delivery deadlines.

Ensuring airworthiness and safety compliance in line with manufacturer recommendations.

Following applicable EASA and QCAA Part 145 regulatory requirements during component maintenance.

Completing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft and component maintenance tasks according to established policies and procedures.

Exercising maintenance authorisation privileges to certify assigned work and support operational requirements.

Identifying potential work-related issues that may affect progress and informing the engineer in charge.

Applying technical knowledge to resolve maintenance problems and support timely completion.

Operating equipment safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturer instructions and operating manuals.

Selecting and using the correct tools and equipment for maintenance activities.

Setting work priorities for allocated staff to support efficient resource utilisation and timely component release.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of four years of job-related experience.

At least four years of work experience on Boeing 777 or Boeing 787 heat exchangers.

At least one company authorisation covering either B777 or B787 Air-conditioning Pack Heat Exchangers.

Knowledge of aircraft component maintenance fundamentals and procedures.

Understanding of equipment maintenance, operation, and proper handling.

Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
Relevant experience in aircraft component workshops and familiarity with regulated maintenance environments will be important for performing this role effectively.
