The successful candidate will carry out low, medium, and high-voltage testing, participate in line walks, support system completion checks, and assist vendors with specific testing requirements. The role requires practical knowledge of construction project activities, safe working practices, and the ability to follow established technical procedures.

This position may suit candidates with hands-on experience in oil and gas construction projects, particularly those familiar with subsea production systems and SURF-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

The Hook Up & Commissioning Technician will support site commissioning activities and ensure that required preparations and inspections are completed according to project specifications.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Performing low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical testing according to project requirements.

  • Conducting line walks and pre-system and sub-system completion checks.

  • Assisting vendors with specific testing activities when required.

  • Preparing materials, tools, and consumables needed for commissioning and testing work.

  • Confirming that red-line mark-up drawings are available and ready for use at the worksite.

  • Using calibrated and certified testing equipment for all relevant inspection and testing activities.

  • Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship, quality, and productivity.

  • Following the company's code of business conduct and established operating procedures.

  • Checking, monitoring, and recording equipment and system preservation activities.

  • Ensuring preservation work complies with the relevant project requirements.

  • Reporting preservation-related activities and updates to the Preservation Coordinator.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should meet the following essential requirements:

  • High school graduate.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in oil and gas construction projects.

  • Good teamwork and coordination skills.

Candidates who previously worked with PTMI and were involved in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for Subsea Production Systems (SPS) and Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) are preferred.

Practical exposure to commissioning preparation, electrical testing, inspection activities, and construction site procedures would be relevant to the position.

Technical Skills and Workplace Requirements

The position requires the ability to carry out assigned testing and commissioning activities while following established technical and safety procedures.

Candidates should be comfortable preparing testing equipment, checking drawings, participating in system completion inspections, and coordinating with vendors and other project personnel.

The use of calibrated and certified equipment is an important requirement. Employees must also maintain accurate preservation records and ensure that preservation activities meet project specifications.

Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe working practices are essential for successful performance in this role.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with at least one year of oil and gas construction experience who want to develop or continue their careers in hook-up and commissioning operations.

High school graduates with relevant project exposure can consider the position. Candidates with previous PTMI experience and involvement in FAT activities for SPS and SURF systems may have an advantage.
