The position also involves testing passenger portal features, reviewing supplier invoices, monitoring refund cases, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This opportunity is suited to professionals with experience in airline connectivity systems, aviation communications, quality monitoring, data analysis, or supplier performance management.
Application deadline: 31 October 2026.
About the IFEC Quality Specialist Role
IFEC stands for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity. These systems support passenger-facing digital services, including onboard Wi-Fi, connectivity portals, and other interactive features available during a flight.
As an IFEC Quality Specialist, you will help ensure that these services perform reliably across different aircraft configurations and routes. You will work with technical teams, suppliers, cabin crew, flight operations, customer care, marketing, and finance to identify service gaps and support timely resolutions.
The role combines technical coordination, quality assurance, performance reporting, and supplier management. Accuracy and attention to detail are important because the work involves reviewing operational data, investigating connectivity complaints, and checking whether suppliers meet their contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor Connectivity Performance
Review supplier dashboards and performance portals daily and weekly. Track service status, incident logs, and performance indicators across aircraft types and connectivity systems.
Prepare Performance Reports
Develop monthly and quarterly reports covering bandwidth usage, passenger session trends, service availability, and performance across suppliers, aircraft types, and route networks. Use Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting dashboards to present findings clearly to management.
Evaluate Supplier SLA Compliance
Compare actual connectivity performance against contractual requirements, including availability and latency targets. Identify discrepancies, escalate recurring problems, and coordinate with management and supplier representatives to support corrective action.
Conduct Quality Checks and Functional Testing
Test passenger connectivity portals across different fleets, including Wi-Fi login processes, portal content, digital menu accuracy, and responsiveness. Verify new features, content updates, and layout changes before or after deployment, documenting bugs and inconsistencies.
Coordinate Technical Issue Resolution
Work with Aircraft Engineering teams to gather technical feedback and support maintenance activities needed to restore or improve system functionality. Communicate findings to suppliers, track resolution timelines, and document performance review meetings.
Support Cabin Crew and Flight Operations
Communicate upcoming portal changes, digital menu updates, and connectivity restrictions to relevant operational teams. Help ensure that crew members understand service limitations caused by regional regulations, coverage restrictions, or supplier outages.
Analyze Passenger Complaints and Refund Cases
Coordinate with Customer Care to review passenger feedback and refund claims associated with connectivity failures. Prepare monthly reports identifying recurring issues, contributing factors, supplier responsibilities, and opportunities for improvement.
Review Supplier Invoices and Maintain Records
Validate monthly connectivity supplier invoices against actual usage, service performance, and contractual SLA commitments. Flag discrepancies and assist Finance with billing investigations. Maintain accurate records of test results, system changes, supplier communications, and ongoing issues for audits and internal reviews.
Support Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay informed about developments in satellite communications, wireless connectivity, and digital passenger services. Identify opportunities to improve system performance, evaluate potential new suppliers or features, and provide recommendations to management.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should meet the following requirements outlined in the vacancy:
-
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
-
Overall experience: Minimum four years of job-related experience.
-
IFEC experience: At least two years working with IFEC systems in an airline or aviation communications environment.
-
Technical knowledge: Understanding of in-flight connectivity technologies, digital passenger platforms, aircraft systems, and the operational environment in which these solutions are deployed.
-
Reporting skills: Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
-
Supplier management: Experience with performance dashboards, supplier portals, contractual monitoring, or SLA oversight.
-
Problem-solving: Strong analytical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail.
-
Communication: Excellent coordination and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
-
Compliance awareness: Understanding of aviation safety, compliance, data protection, and regional connectivity regulations.
Experience with major IFEC suppliers such as Panasonic, Thales, Viasat, or SITAONAIR is relevant. Certification or training in data analysis, quality management, IT systems, or a related discipline is also desirable.
