The St. Regis Residence Doha is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of building systems, guest rooms, and facility equipment. The successful candidate will help ensure the property remains safe, functional, and maintained to the highest luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and repair issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on building equipment and systems.
- Conduct inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery to identify defects or maintenance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
- Repair and maintain guest room fixtures, furniture, appliances, and equipment.
- Replace light bulbs, electrical outlets, switches, air filters, and other facility components.
- Perform minor carpentry, drywall, painting, and woodwork repairs.
Engineering & Building Systems
- Assist in maintaining:
- Air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Electrical installations
- Plumbing systems
- Mechanical equipment
- Pneumatic and electronic control systems
- Kitchen equipment
- Utility systems
- Operate and identify utility shut-off valves and building service systems.
- Support energy conservation and facility efficiency initiatives.
- Perform basic computer-related engineering tasks, including temperature adjustments and equipment scheduling.
Facility & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform repairs to interior and exterior facility areas.
- Maintain landscaping features and irrigation systems when required.
- Ensure maintenance areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Conduct housekeeping-related maintenance inventory activities.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety, security, and maintenance procedures.
- Utilize Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before carrying out maintenance work.
- Report safety hazards, accidents, and equipment failures immediately.
- Properly store flammable materials and maintenance supplies.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain compliance with hotel engineering and operational standards.
Guest Service & Teamwork
- Interact professionally with residents and guests while resolving maintenance concerns.
- Anticipate guest needs and maintain high service standards.
- Communicate maintenance updates clearly with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain positive working relationships across departments.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate ongoing maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, painting, or facilities management.
- Hospitality, hotel engineering, or residential maintenance experience is an advantage.
- Experience with building systems and preventive maintenance practices is preferred.
