Job Description/Specification:

PS Tech is seeking a qualified and technically driven Road Engineer - W to join our expanding engineering team in Doha. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting major road network developments, highway upgrades, and civil infrastructure projects across Qatar. The ideal candidate will combine strong civil engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in road design, site supervision, asset coordination, and technical documentation management.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure that roadway initiatives comply with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and international engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

  • Project Execution & Engineering Oversight: Supervise and monitor ongoing road construction, rehabilitation, and infrastructure development works to ensure total alignment with approved drawings, specifications, and project baselines.

  • Site Inspections & Quality Control: Conduct regular physical site inspections, verify contractor workmanship, monitor layer compaction, asphalt paving, and drainage interfaces, and promptly identify or address construction defects.

  • Technical Submissions & Review: Review contractor submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, material approvals, Request for Information (RFIs), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Coordinate effectively with utility providers, municipal authorities, traffic management departments, and other stakeholders to resolve site clashes, utility relocations, and service protection issues.

  • Progress Tracking & Reporting: Track site progress against scheduled milestones, prepare comprehensive daily/weekly site logs, and assist senior management in compiling progress reports and identifying potential project delays.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, ensuring all site activities comply with local statutory rules and QCS requirements.

Requirements & Candidate Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 8 years of total professional engineering experience, with a strong background focusing on road construction, highways, traffic engineering, and infrastructure projects.

  • Regional Exposure: Proven professional experience working within Qatar or the broader GCC construction and public works sector; strong familiarity with Ashghal standards and local authority requirements is a distinct advantage.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Sound knowledge of road design software, AutoCAD, and civil engineering calculation packages.

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and tracking data.

    • Deep understanding of QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications), QA/QC protocols, and highway safety manuals.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities, strong problem-solving skills on site, and clear written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic language proficiency is highly valued).

  • Availability: Candidates currently based in Qatar with a valid Qatar ID and transferable visa who can join on short notice are preferred.

Who Can Apply?

This position is open to qualified engineering professionals who meet the following criteria:

  • Current Location: Candidates residing inside Qatar with a valid Qatar ID and transferable visa.

  • Experience Tier: Mid-level to senior civil/road engineers seeking career advancement within a reputable engineering secondment and infrastructure support firm.

  • Background Match: Professionals with direct background experience in roadworks, civil earthworks, asphalt layers, storm drainage integration, and municipal infrastructure site supervision.
