Job Description/Specification:
A leading financial institution in Qatar is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Senior Associate to support and enhance the organization's risk management framework. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a large, well-established institution while gaining exposure to an international and dynamic working environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting risk assessments, reviewing controls, maintaining risk registers, preparing risk reports, and partnering with stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational risk management frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments, Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and control reviews.
- Perform ongoing risk monitoring and reporting activities.
- Maintain risk registers, policies, procedures, and risk management methodologies.
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
- Identify emerging risks, control gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to promote risk awareness and governance.
- Support risk-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in strengthening the overall risk culture within the organization.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management.
- Experience in operational risk, enterprise risk management, or related risk functions.
- Experience within asset management, wealth management, or investment management environments is highly preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience conducting RCSAs and control assessments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and effective risk reports and presentations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional risk management certifications would be an advantage.
- Experience working within regulated financial institutions.
- Knowledge of governance, compliance, and internal control frameworks.
- Experience supporting risk transformation or improvement initiatives.
