Le Méridien Doha City Center is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join its Engineering & Facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel facilities, ensuring all equipment, guestrooms, and public areas remain in excellent working condition while delivering exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and repair issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, machinery, kitchen equipment, and building systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Carry out painting, drywall repairs, wood trim repairs, and general carpentry work.
- Replace light bulbs, air-conditioning filters, switches, outlets, and other room fixtures.
- Maintain and monitor hotel equipment, utility systems, and shut-off valves.
- Assist with maintenance of landscaping and irrigation systems.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all safety regulations.
- Update maintenance records and inventory of parts and supplies.
- Communicate daily maintenance activities and handovers effectively with team members.
- Support housekeeping and engineering inventory-related duties as required.
Requirements
✅ High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
✅ Valid Driver’s License
✅ Experience in:
- General building maintenance
- Painting and surface preparation
- Basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs
✅ Knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Carpentry and finishing works
- Kitchen equipment maintenance
- Preventive maintenance procedures
✅ Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel engineering or hospitality maintenance.
- Familiarity with building management and maintenance systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Comfortable working on ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.
