BUTEC is seeking an experienced Planning & Cost Control Engineer to support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and cost management activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring project performance, controlling costs, analyzing deviations, and ensuring effective planning processes throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Support project execution by ensuring alignment between schedules, resources, and project objectives.
- Assist in identifying potential delays and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams to maintain accurate planning data.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Prepare and update budgets for offices, plants, camps, and project-related operations.
- Monitor project costs, expenditures, commitments, and variation orders.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and cash flow forecasts.
- Analyze budget deviations and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- Track resource utilization and productivity performance.
Project Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze technical drawings and prepare material quantity and cost estimates.
- Monitor project performance indicators and identify risks impacting schedule or budget.
- Investigate unusual events affecting project costs or timelines.
- Prepare regular planning and cost control reports for management.
- Provide detailed analysis of major deviations and recommend solutions.
Team Support & Coordination
- Review and verify resource cost allocation prepared by junior engineers and officers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
- Support site-based planning and cost control teams when required.
- Ensure continuity of planning and cost control activities across projects.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior planning and cost control personnel.
Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned from project experiences.
- Improve estimation, forecasting, and planning methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of best practices within the planning and cost control function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer or in a Planning & Cost Control role.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
- RMP (Risk Management Professional) Certification.
- Power BI knowledge and reporting experience.
