Parsons is seeking an experienced Works Inspector (Electrical) to oversee and inspect electrical construction activities on major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical works are completed according to approved specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct inspections of electrical construction works to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor installation activities involving:
- Power distribution systems
- Electrical cabling and wiring
- Lighting systems
- Control and monitoring systems
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
- Verify compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project specifications.
Construction Monitoring
- Monitor daily site activities and construction progress.
- Identify potential delays, technical issues, or non-conformances.
- Recommend corrective actions to maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure smooth execution of electrical works.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily inspection reports and site records.
- Document quality inspections, non-conformance reports, and safety observations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and inspection records.
- Support project teams with progress reporting and compliance tracking.
Safety Management
- Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures and electrical safety standards.
- Monitor work practices and identify potential safety risks.
- Promote a safe working environment for all site personnel.
- Ensure contractors comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Testing & Commissioning
- Participate in testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify operational performance of installed electrical systems.
- Ensure systems meet quality and functional requirements before project handover.
- Assist in final inspections and acceptance procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical construction inspection.
- At least 5 years of inspection experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience in projects involving:
- Roads and highways
- Drainage systems
- Water supply networks
- Sewerage infrastructure
- Utility installations
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical construction standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience in electrical inspection and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures.
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Inspection reporting systems
- Construction documentation tools
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of international construction standards and GCC regulations.
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and infrastructure projects in the Middle East.
- Experience with AutoCAD and electrical engineering software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
