Since 2011, Parkview Pet Center has been one of Doha's leading pet care providers, offering a comprehensive range of services including veterinary care, grooming, boarding, retail, and pet relocation. With a team of approximately 45 employees, we are committed to providing exceptional care and service to pets and their owners.

Please Note: This is a non-clinical management position. A veterinary qualification is not required.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to work closely with the Managing Director and oversee the day-to-day operations of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational, financial, people management, and customer service expertise.

The successful candidate will bring structure, accountability, and commercial insight to a dynamic service-based environment while ensuring high standards across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations across veterinary services, grooming, boarding, retail, and pet relocation.
  • Monitor revenue, costs, departmental KPIs, and resource utilization.
  • Manage operating expenses, including staffing, inventory, purchasing, and overhead costs.
  • Analyze business performance data to identify opportunities, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate priorities across departments and ensure timely execution of key business objectives.
  • Support the Managing Director in evaluating new services, growth opportunities, and strategic hires.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary workforce, including veterinarians, veterinary nurses, reception teams, groomers, boarding staff, retail personnel, relocation specialists, and administrative employees.
  • Partner with the Managing Director to recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing employees.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, responsibilities, and accountability measures.
  • Manage workforce scheduling, employee development, performance reviews, and day-to-day operations.
  • Provide operational oversight to veterinarians and nurses while respecting clinical decision-making authority.

Customer Experience & Client Relations

  • Maintain exceptional service standards across all customer-facing functions.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key and long-standing clients.
  • Effectively manage customer concerns, complaints, and escalations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to strengthen client satisfaction and retention.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Improve workflows and operational coordination across departments.
  • Develop and document practical procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain management reporting systems and operational follow-up processes.
  • Support employment, licensing, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven management experience within a customer-focused service organization.
  • Experience in healthcare, veterinary services, wellness, hospitality, retail, or other premium service environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success leading, recruiting, and developing skilled professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L statements, KPIs, and business performance metrics.
  • Experience managing clinicians or professional staff is an advantage.
  • Previous veterinary or pet industry experience is beneficial but not required.

  • Proficiency in modern business systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

  • Candidates currently based in Qatar or elsewhere within the GCC are encouraged to apply.
  • This is a highly visible leadership role within a seven-day operation.
  • Flexible scheduling is required, including occasional evening and weekend presence based on operational requirements.
  • The position reports directly to the Managing Director.
