Job Description/Specification:

Qatar Airways Cargo is seeking a Cargo Pricing Specialist in Doha to support pricing performance across assigned markets, trade lanes, and customer segments. The role combines commercial strategy, market intelligence, quantitative analysis, pricing systems, and stakeholder management to improve revenue, yield, and market share.

This opportunity is particularly relevant for professionals with strong analytical skills and experience in pricing, commercial performance, air cargo, logistics, transportation, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary pricing focal point for assigned markets, trade lanes, and customer segments.
  • Manage day-to-day cargo pricing activities and monitor commercial performance.
  • Support the Cargo Pricing Manager with short-, medium-, and long-term pricing initiatives.
  • Analyze booking patterns, demand trends, and commercial performance indicators to identify pricing opportunities.
  • Implement appropriate pricing actions through approved pricing tools and frameworks.
  • Create, program, test, and regularly review business rules within the pricing system.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market developments, capacity changes, customer demand, and economic trends.
  • Manage pricing activities related to customer tenders, including rate strategies, pricing negotiations, allotment performance, and RFQ coordination.
  • Convert market intelligence and performance analysis into tactical and strategic pricing recommendations.
  • Work with Sales, Revenue Management, Network Planning, and Regional Pricing teams to influence commercial decisions.
  • Evaluate Joint Business market performance and identify pricing opportunities and process improvements.
  • Prepare data-driven presentations and recommendations for senior management and leadership forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution in a relevant commercial, analytical, or quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Academic background in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Aviation Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using market intelligence, pricing, or business performance data for commercial decision-making.
  • Experience in air cargo, airlines, logistics, or transportation is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate data-driven recommendations effectively across multiple functions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

Who Should Apply?

This Cargo Pricing Specialist position is suited to commercially minded analysts who can combine detailed data analysis with practical business judgment. You should be comfortable examining market and demand information, identifying pricing risks or opportunities, and turning complex findings into clear recommendations.

Experience in air cargo or the wider aviation sector can be valuable, but professionals from logistics, transportation, supply chain, or other analytical commercial environments may also find the role relevant if they have strong pricing and performance-analysis experience.

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

The strongest candidates will combine quantitative analysis with commercial awareness. Understanding how demand, competitor behavior, capacity, pricing, and market conditions influence revenue and yield is central to the position.

You will also need strong stakeholder skills. Pricing recommendations can affect Sales, Revenue Management, Network Planning, and regional teams, so the ability to present evidence, influence decisions, and build support is important.

Technical confidence with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools will support the reporting, pricing analysis, business-rule management, and presentation requirements of the role.

How to Stand Out

Your CV should show measurable examples of how you have used pricing, market, revenue, or performance data to influence commercial decisions.

Highlight experience with pricing strategies, demand analysis, tenders, RFQs, rate negotiations, revenue optimization, market intelligence, or commercial performance where applicable. If you have worked with pricing systems or created business rules, explain the practical outcome rather than simply listing the system as a skill.

Industry experience in air cargo, airlines, logistics, or transportation should also be clearly visible.

Interview Preparation

Prepare to discuss how you would analyze changing demand, competitor pricing, capacity constraints, and market performance before recommending a pricing action.

You may also be asked about situations where your analysis challenged an existing commercial assumption. Be prepared to explain how you presented the data, influenced stakeholders, and measured the resulting outcome.

Expect questions around pricing strategy, revenue and yield, market intelligence, customer tenders, RFQs, business performance, and cross-functional decision-making.

Career Growth

The position offers exposure to cargo pricing, revenue performance, market strategy, network optimization, customer tenders, and commercial decision-making within a global air cargo environment. Experience across these areas can support progression into broader pricing, revenue management, commercial strategy, or cargo leadership positions.
