Job Description/Specification:
A manufacturing plant producing XLPE foam requires close coordination between materials, inventory, production, quality, warehousing, and logistics. This Supply Chain Supervisor role is focused on keeping materials available, production schedules supported, and logistics activities running efficiently. The position is suitable for experienced supply chain or materials professionals with hands-on exposure to XLPE production and factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily supply chain activities supporting XLPE foam production and factory operations.
- Monitor resin, additives, and finished foam inventory to maintain production requirements and customer order specifications.
- Improve inventory turnover, lead times, and utilization of available resources.
- Plan and coordinate warehouse, inventory, and logistics personnel according to operational requirements.
- Work closely with Production, QA/QC, Procurement, and Maintenance teams to maintain smooth material flow.
- Identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks affecting manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot material shipment delays and logistics disruptions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ensure materials and finished products are properly coordinated with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Enforce HSE requirements across storage and transportation areas.
- Maintain 5S standards and support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- A Diploma is also listed as a required qualification in the job posting.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials management.
- Experience in plastic manufacturing or continuous foam production.
- XLPE industry experience is required.
- Minimum 3 years of XLPE production factory experience.
- Minimum 3 years of Quality & Production experience.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Hands-on problem-solving skills, particularly under production pressure.
- Strong communication and coordination across multiple departments.
- English language skills are preferred.
- A Qatar driving license is preferred.
- Candidates locally available in Qatar are preferred.
Who Should Apply?
This position is best suited to supply chain and materials professionals who understand the realities of a manufacturing environment rather than purely office-based logistics operations. Candidates should have direct exposure to XLPE production, factory inventory, production coordination, and quality-related activities.
Supervisors who can respond quickly to material shortages, shipment delays, production bottlenecks, and changing operational priorities will be particularly relevant for this role.
Skills That Will Help You Succeed
The strongest candidates will combine supply chain knowledge with practical factory experience. Inventory management, warehouse coordination, production planning, logistics follow-up, and cross-functional communication are important parts of the role.
Leadership is equally important because the position involves coordinating warehouse, inventory, and logistics personnel while working closely with Production, QA/QC, Procurement, and Maintenance teams. The ability to remain organized and make practical decisions under pressure can make a significant difference.
How to Stand Out
Make your CV specific about your XLPE production experience rather than simply stating general supply chain experience. Highlight the number of years you worked in an XLPE factory and describe your involvement with resin, additives, finished-product inventory, production coordination, warehousing, and logistics.
Also mention measurable improvements where available, such as reduced material shortages, improved inventory turnover, shorter lead times, reduced shipment delays, or better production schedule adherence.
If you are already in Qatar, clearly indicate your local availability and Qatar driving license status if applicable.
Interview Preparation
Expect questions around how you manage materials when production schedules change unexpectedly. You may be asked how you would respond to resin or additive shortages, delayed shipments, inventory discrepancies, or logistics disruptions.
Prepare examples showing how you have coordinated Production, Procurement, QA/QC, Maintenance, warehouse, and logistics teams to resolve operational problems.
You should also be ready to discuss HSE requirements, 5S practices, inventory control, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Career Growth
Experience in XLPE manufacturing supply chain can provide a strong foundation for progression into Supply Chain Manager, Materials Manager, Logistics Manager, Factory Operations, or broader manufacturing management positions. Professionals who combine supply chain expertise with production and quality knowledge can develop particularly valuable cross-functional experience.
