Job Description/Specification:

A logistics and freight operations opportunity is available in Doha, Qatar for a Freight Operations Executive with experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, and shipment coordination. The role combines customer service, freight quotations, import and export coordination, documentation, customs follow-up, and financial administration.

The position is suited to a professional who can manage multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation and timely communication with customers and operational partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries through email, phone, and CargoQuote.
  • Prepare freight quotations and obtain competitive airline and freight rates.
  • Coordinate import and export shipments from initial booking through final delivery.
  • Verify AWB, MAWB, HAWB, cargo details, and shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate with customers, airlines, customs, transport providers, warehouses, and internal operations teams.
  • Follow up on customs clearance, delivery slots, cargo collection, and shipment progress.
  • Provide customers with timely updates covering arrival, clearance, RCS, and departure milestones.
  • Coordinate payments, invoices, supplier bills, and outstanding customer balances.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and required operational documentation.
  • Support Operations and Event Logistics teams when required.
  • Resolve shipment-related issues through consistent follow-up and coordination.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in freight forwarding, cargo, or logistics.
  • Experience in import/export and air cargo operations is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of freight operations experience is stated in the job details.
  • Good understanding of shipment documentation and freight coordination.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent follow-up and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities under pressure.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Flexibility to work both day and night shifts according to operational requirements.
  • Candidates currently in Qatar with a valid QID are preferred.
  • The employer states a preference for male candidates.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is well suited to freight forwarding and cargo professionals who understand the full shipment lifecycle and can coordinate multiple stakeholders to keep cargo moving.

Candidates with practical exposure to air freight, import/export documentation, customs coordination, airline communication, and delivery arrangements will be particularly relevant.

The role also requires strong customer-facing ability, making it suitable for professionals who can combine operational knowledge with clear and timely communication.

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

Successful freight operations professionals need strong attention to detail because shipment documentation, airway bills, cargo information, and operational milestones must be accurately maintained.

Follow-up is equally important. Delays can involve several parties, including airlines, customs, warehouses, transporters, and customers. Being persistent and organized can help prevent small issues from becoming larger shipment problems.

Strong Excel and Outlook skills can also support efficient tracking, communication, and record management.

How to Stand Out

Your CV should clearly demonstrate your freight forwarding or air cargo experience rather than using only general logistics terminology.

Highlight experience with AWB/MAWB/HAWB documentation, import and export shipments, airline rate quotations, customs clearance, cargo collection, delivery coordination, and customer updates.

If you have experience managing urgent shipments, resolving documentation issues, negotiating freight rates, or coordinating several shipments simultaneously, include measurable examples where possible.

Also clearly mention your availability for day and night shifts and, if applicable, your Qatar-based status and valid QID.

Interview Preparation

Prepare to explain how you would manage a shipment from booking through final delivery. Interviewers may ask how you verify airway bill information, handle missing documents, coordinate with airlines and customs, or respond when a shipment is delayed.

You may also be asked how you prioritize multiple urgent shipments, communicate delays to customers, obtain competitive freight rates, or resolve discrepancies between shipment documentation and actual cargo information.

Demonstrate that you understand the importance of accuracy, proactive communication, follow-up, and operational coordination in air cargo.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

The advertised salary range is QAR 3,000–4,500 per month. The position is full-time and based in Doha, with work performed in person.

The role requires flexibility for both day and night shifts depending on operational requirements.
