An Internal Controls Analyst at entry level supports financial governance, compliance, and control activities within an organization. This opportunity is suitable for fresh graduates and early-career finance professionals who want practical exposure to internal controls, audit support, SAP, KYC, vendor due diligence, and financial process improvement.

💼 Key Responsibilities

  • Document financial processes, control objectives, procedures, flowcharts, and control matrices.
  • Support control testing by performing walkthroughs, sample checks, and documenting test results.
  • Track control deficiencies and assist process owners with remediation activities.
  • Review SAP access reports to identify potential Segregation of Duties (SOD) conflicts.
  • Support KYC, vendor due diligence, sanctions screening, and vendor master-data reviews.
  • Verify vendor information such as business licenses, tax registrations, and banking details.
  • Prepare documentation and evidence packages for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain audit trackers and follow up on outstanding management action plans.
  • Assist with updates to finance policies and procedures when processes or regulatory requirements change.
  • Participate in SAP enhancement projects and user acceptance testing to ensure appropriate controls are incorporated.

🎯 Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • No prior experience is required; the position is designed for entry-level candidates.
  • Fresh graduates with strong academic performance and relevant internship exposure are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to SAP or another ERP system is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.

🚀 Why You'll Love This Opportunity

  • Suitable for graduates looking to establish a career in internal controls and financial governance.
  • Gain practical experience in control testing, audit coordination, KYC, and compliance.
  • Develop exposure to SAP and finance-system projects.
  • Work across multiple finance processes and collaborate with business, IT, Procurement, and audit teams.
  • Build a foundation for longer-term careers in internal audit, risk, compliance, finance, and governance.

👤 Who Should Apply?

This role is particularly relevant for fresh graduates in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration who want a career beyond traditional accounting.

💡 How to Stand Out

For an entry-level Internal Controls Analyst position, your CV should demonstrate your understanding of accounting and financial controls rather than simply listing your degree.

Highlight internships, university projects, or coursework involving auditing, financial reporting, risk management, compliance, SAP, Excel, data analysis, or process improvement.

If you have identified an error, analyzed a dataset, documented a business process, performed an audit assignment, or helped improve a reporting process during an internship or academic project, describe the outcome clearly.

🎤 Interview Preparation

Prepare for questions about basic internal controls, segregation of duties, audit evidence, financial processes, and accounting principles.

You may be asked to explain what makes an effective control, how you would investigate an unusual transaction, why SOD is important, or how you would handle missing documentation during an audit.

Be prepared for practical scenarios involving vendor onboarding, SAP access conflicts, control testing, or an audit request with a short deadline. Demonstrate a methodical approach: understand the issue, gather evidence, document your findings, and escalate when appropriate.

📈 Career Growth

This position can provide a foundation for careers such as Internal Controls Analyst, Internal Auditor, Risk Analyst, Compliance Analyst, Financial Controls Specialist, SOX/Controls Analyst, or Finance Governance Specialist as experience develops.
