Job Description/Specification:
Qatar Airways is seeking a Resource Allocator to support manpower and equipment allocation across operational areas. The role focuses on aligning available staff and ground support equipment (GSE) with daily operational requirements, flight schedules, and service-level commitments.
The position requires strong analytical and coordination skills, as resource plans must be adjusted throughout the day to respond to changing workloads, staff availability, operational disruptions, and unscheduled requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage resource allocation for non-supervisory positions and designated ground-handling operational areas.
- Review manpower and equipment availability against daily rosters and operational requirements.
- Prepare resource allocations during the pre-planning, shift-planning, and real-time operational phases.
- Complete preliminary allocations approximately 24 hours before the relevant shift.
- Reassess manpower and GSE availability at the start of each shift and make detailed task assignments.
- Monitor real-time operational changes and adjust resource allocations according to workload and flight requirements.
- Ensure assignments follow operational business rules and employee qualification requirements.
- Coordinate with shift officers, controllers, duty managers, and shift managers to address changing operational needs.
- Recommend replacement manpower or overtime when staffing shortages, sickness, or absences affect planned operations.
- Communicate resource allocations clearly to operational teams and monitor task progress.
- Maintain allocation plans during scheduled and unscheduled system outages.
- Coordinate with other Resource Allocators to ensure effective shift handovers and operational coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and resource utilization through effective use of allocation systems.
- Perform additional duties related to resource allocation and airport operations as assigned.
Requirements
- High School qualification with at least 2 years of job-related experience, or
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 1 year of job-related experience.
- Previous experience in resource management, roster planning, or operational manpower allocation.
- Experience working with resource allocation systems in high-volume operational environments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make timely decisions and adapt resource plans during rapidly changing operational conditions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple operational stakeholders.
- Experience working in airport, aviation, cargo, logistics, or other high-volume operational environments can be beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with real-time resource allocation or decision-support systems.
- Familiarity with Real Time Allocation systems.
- Knowledge of manpower planning and operational roster management.
- Ability to work effectively in a shift-based operational environment.
