Job Description/Specification:
Wood is seeking an experienced Information Management Lead to join its team in Doha, Qatar, on a long-term assignment. The position will oversee information management activities across engineering and project delivery, ensuring that data, documents, models, and other project information are produced, controlled, and transferred in line with contractual requirements.
The role is suited to professionals with substantial experience in oil and gas, engineering projects, information management, document management, and project information handover, particularly across onshore or offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary focal point for contractor information management activities.
- Understand company requirements for project data, documents, models, and information deliverables.
- Establish and maintain information management systems covering documents, engineering data, and models.
- Ensure contractor workflows and systems meet contractual information delivery requirements.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, design, and drafting teams to support project deliverables.
- Monitor engineering and design progress and prepare project status reports.
- Manage the incremental and periodic transfer of documents, drawings, models, and other information to the company environment.
- Ensure information is complete, accurate, properly controlled, and available throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support information handover activities between different stages of engineering and project execution.
- Coordinate IT and information management matters between contractor teams and company representatives.
- Contribute to effective information management practices across brownfield and greenfield projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Welding, Materials, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience in industrial or process engineering project delivery.
- Experience in the oil and gas or energy sector is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle stages and information requirements throughout project delivery.
- Practical knowledge of data, document, and model lifecycle management.
- Experience managing information handover requirements across engineering and project stages.
- Strong project management skills; CAPM, PMP, PrMP, or equivalent training is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with enterprise electronic document management and data warehousing systems.
- Familiarity with engineering and design systems used for process, instrumentation, electrical, piping, civil, and 3D/CAD disciplines.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for working across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience supporting onshore or offshore oil and gas projects is beneficial.
