Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced Asset Management & Sustainability Engineer to support the effective management, reliability, lifecycle planning, and sustainability performance of physical assets across facilities and properties.
The role combines asset management, engineering performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, lifecycle planning, compliance, and data analysis to improve asset reliability, optimize lifecycle costs, and support environmental and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
- Maintain and continuously improve the asset management system and asset register.
- Maintain accurate records of buildings, MEP systems, equipment, infrastructure, and other physical assets.
- Establish asset criticality classifications based on operational, financial, safety, and business risks.
- Monitor asset condition, performance, reliability, availability, and remaining useful life.
- Develop lifecycle plans, replacement strategies, renewal programs, and CAPEX requirements.
- Review maintenance strategies and recommend improvements based on asset performance and lifecycle costs.
- Identify aging, obsolete, underperforming, and high-risk assets and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain asset data within CAFM, CMMS, or other asset management systems.
Sustainability & Energy Management
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives across buildings and facilities.
- Monitor energy, water, waste, and resource consumption.
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy use, operating costs, carbon emissions, and resource wastage.
- Conduct energy and resource-efficiency assessments.
- Support renewable energy, energy-efficient equipment, smart building systems, and sustainable technology initiatives.
- Monitor HVAC, lighting, electrical, water, and other building systems for efficiency improvements.
- Develop sustainability KPIs and monitor performance against established targets.
- Support carbon footprint measurement, emissions reporting, waste reduction, recycling, and water conservation initiatives.
Engineering & Asset Performance
- Review the technical condition and performance of MEP and building systems.
- Analyze equipment failures, maintenance history, energy consumption, and operational performance.
- Support root-cause analysis of recurring asset failures.
- Review preventive and predictive maintenance requirements for critical assets.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, FM operations, and contractors to improve asset performance.
- Review technical specifications, equipment selections, and proposed asset replacements.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with Qatar regulations, applicable standards, client requirements, and company procedures.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and monitor asset performance KPIs.
- Prepare reports covering asset condition, reliability, availability, maintenance performance, energy consumption, and lifecycle status.
- Analyze asset data to identify trends, risks, cost-saving opportunities, and improvement areas.
- Develop dashboards and management reports for asset and sustainability performance.
- Use data-driven analysis to support maintenance, renewal, and investment decisions.
- Monitor maintenance costs against asset value and lifecycle expectations.
Lifecycle & CAPEX Planning
- Prepare lifecycle cost assessments for major assets and systems.
- Develop asset replacement and renewal forecasts.
- Support annual and long-term CAPEX budgeting.
- Evaluate capital projects based on lifecycle cost, energy efficiency, sustainability, risk, and return on investment.
- Monitor asset improvement projects against cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership.
Compliance, Risk & HSE
- Ensure assets are managed in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support asset-related risk assessments and mitigation plans.
- Identify critical risks affecting safety, business continuity, environmental performance, and service delivery.
- Ensure statutory inspections, testing, certification, and compliance records are maintained.
- Promote safe and environmentally responsible engineering practices.
Stakeholder Management
- Prepare monthly and annual asset management and sustainability reports.
- Present asset performance, risks, CAPEX requirements, energy performance, and sustainability initiatives to management and clients.
- Coordinate with property managers, facilities managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders.
- Support client meetings, technical presentations, audits, and asset review meetings.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, specifications, warranties, manuals, and asset records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional certification in asset management, sustainability, energy management, or facilities management is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
Candidates with relevant certifications such as the following will be advantageous:
- Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP)
- IAM Certificate / Asset Management qualification
- ISO 55001 Asset Management
- LEED

- ISO 14001 Environmental Management
- ISO 50001 Energy Management
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in engineering, asset management, facilities management, sustainability, or energy management.
- Experience in commercial buildings, residential properties, hospitality, infrastructure, industrial facilities, or large-scale FM operations.
- Qatar or GCC facilities management experience is an advantage.
- Experience with CAFM/CMMS, BMS, energy management systems, asset databases, and performance dashboards.
