Job Description/Specification:
Mumuso Qatar is looking for an experienced Merchandise Planner to develop and manage merchandise plans for its stores in Qatar. The role will focus on sales forecasting, inventory planning, assortment strategies, product availability, and merchandise performance.
The successful candidate will analyze sales and inventory data, identify demand trends, and work closely with operations and store teams to align merchandise plans with business targets and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage merchandise plans for Qatar stores.
- Prepare sales forecasts and demand plans based on historical and current performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and product availability.
- Develop assortment strategies based on customer trends and business requirements.
- Analyze sales, stock, and inventory performance.
- Identify potential overstock and stockout risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with operations and store teams on merchandise planning and availability.
- Monitor actual performance against merchandise plans and forecasts.
- Prepare regular sales, inventory, and merchandise performance reports.
- Recommend adjustments to improve profitability and support store growth.
- Use data and market trends to support merchandise and inventory decisions.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Requirements
- 4+ years of retail experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in general business.
- Strong analytical and demand-planning skills.
- Experience with inventory management and sales analysis.
- Experience in retail merchandising, merchandise planning, or category management is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP, merchandise planning, or inventory management systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to work on-site in Doha and manage multiple priorities effectively.
