Job Description/Specification:
A leading organization in Qatar is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager – Cards to support its technology operations. The position is aimed at professionals with strong experience in banking technology, card products, payment systems, and IT project delivery.
The successful candidate will manage complex technology projects from planning through implementation and closure, working closely with business teams, technology departments, vendors, payment networks, compliance functions, and other stakeholders.
IT Project Manager – Cards Responsibilities
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle while ensuring projects are delivered according to approved scope, timelines, budgets, quality requirements, and governance procedures.
Key responsibilities include project planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, stakeholder coordination, vendor management, reporting, and project closure.
The role requires maintaining effective project governance and documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle. The successful candidate will monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, and escalations and ensure appropriate actions are taken to keep projects on track.
The Project Manager will also coordinate with senior management, business stakeholders, IT teams, external vendors, and other partners to ensure clear communication and timely decision-making.
Cards and Banking Technology Experience
Strong knowledge of the Cards and Payments domain is an important requirement for this position. Candidates should understand technologies and processes associated with credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, electronic payments, and digital banking.
Experience or knowledge in areas such as tokenization, PCI DSS, ePayments, digital wallets, and payment processing flows will be relevant to the role.
The successful candidate should also understand card-scheme requirements, certifications, mandates, and regulatory or compliance-driven technology initiatives. Experience coordinating projects involving banks, payment providers, technology vendors, and card schemes can be particularly relevant.
IT Project Management Requirements
Candidates should have substantial experience managing IT projects within banking, financial services, payments, cards, or digital banking environments.
The main requirements include:
- 8–10 years of IT Project Management experience.
- Experience in banking, financial services, cards, payments, or digital banking.
- PMP certification required or strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation and planning through implementation and closure.
- Strong knowledge of project governance, documentation, reporting, escalation, and change control.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent analytical, planning, documentation, and reporting abilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional banking technology teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, business teams, technology professionals, and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to project delivery.
