Job Description/Specification:

The Bid Manager role focuses on leading complex tender and proposal activities for IT Managed Services. It combines technology knowledge, commercial awareness, technical writing, stakeholder coordination, and presales expertise to produce compliant and compelling responses to RFPs and other opportunities.

This senior opportunity is suited to experienced IT professionals with a strong background in Managed Services, IT outsourcing, bid management, presales, and proposal development, particularly those who can work across both technical and commercial requirements in Arabic and English.

💼 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete bid lifecycle, from opportunity qualification and planning through reviews, development, and final submission.

  • Support bid/no-bid decisions by analyzing requirements, evaluation criteria, scope, risks, assumptions, pricing, payment terms, and compliance issues.

  • Develop technical and commercial proposals covering Service Desk, ITSM, Cloud, Infrastructure, SOC/NOC, Security, and Application Managed Services.

  • Produce high-quality bid content covering solution descriptions, service models, transition plans, SLAs, KPIs, commercials, team structures, references, and relevant case studies.

  • Prepare and review SLA, KPI, penalty, and incentive requirements within proposals and contracts.

  • Develop Managed Services offerings and Master Framework Agreement (MFA) proposals with modular pricing and scalable service catalogs.

  • Create professional technical diagrams, service models, process flows, architectures, and customer presentations.

  • Lead presales activities, requirements-gathering workshops, solution presentations, and sales-pitch development.

  • Coordinate with Delivery, Operations, Finance, Legal, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure proposals are commercially and operationally viable.

  • Lead bid reviews, bid briefings, workshare arrangements, and quality-assurance processes.

  • Develop reusable proposal templates, sales collateral, and standardized bid content.

  • Analyze market and competitor trends to strengthen Managed Services positioning.

  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and proposal best practices.

🎯 Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 8–10 years of overall IT or technology experience.

  • At least 4 years of dedicated experience in Managed Services bid management.

  • Experience across Service Desk, ITSM, Cloud/Infrastructure, SOC/NOC, Application Services, or IT Outsourcing.

  • Proven experience preparing proposals, commercial models, transition plans, and SLA-based operating models.

  • Strong understanding of Managed Services delivery and engagement models.

  • Experience writing, reviewing, and negotiating SLA requirements in RFP responses and contracts.

  • Experience with Master Framework Agreement proposals is highly desirable.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation capabilities in Arabic and English.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and technology partners.

  • Knowledge of IT governance and frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and cloud-adoption frameworks.

  • Experience with major Tier-1 or Tier-2 IT service providers is advantageous.

🚀 Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • The position combines technology, commercial strategy, presales, and bid management.

  • It provides exposure to complex Managed Services engagements across multiple technology domains.

  • The role involves working with technical, operational, financial, and legal stakeholders.

  • Professionals can develop expertise in large-scale RFPs, outsourcing models, SLAs, commercial structures, and service transitions.

  • Experience with Master Framework Agreements can provide additional exposure to scalable and multi-service commercial models.

👤 Who Should Apply?

This role is aimed at experienced Bid Managers, Proposal Managers, Presales Managers, Managed Services Consultants, Solution Consultants, or IT Commercial professionals with a substantial technology background.

The ideal candidate can move comfortably between technical and commercial discussions. They should understand what an IT service actually requires operationally while also being able to present that solution clearly within an RFP response.

Candidates should be strong writers and editors who can coordinate contributions from multiple specialists, challenge incomplete information, identify compliance gaps, and ensure the final proposal presents a coherent service offering.

⭐ Skills That Will Help You Succeed

Key capabilities include:

  • IT Managed Services knowledge

  • Bid and proposal management

  • RFP/RFQ analysis

  • Technical and commercial writing

  • Presales and solution development

  • SLA and KPI design

  • ITSM and service-transition planning

  • Cloud and infrastructure services

  • SOC/NOC and security services

  • Application Managed Services

  • Commercial modelling

  • Technical presentations

  • Stakeholder and partner management

  • Quality assurance and compliance

  • Data analysis and market research

Strong visual communication is also valuable because complex service architectures and operating models often need to be translated into clear diagrams and executive-level presentations.

💡 How to Stand Out

Your CV should demonstrate the complexity and commercial significance of bids you have managed, rather than simply stating that you prepared proposals.

Highlight the types of RFPs handled, Managed Services involved, approximate contract values where disclosure is appropriate, proposal timelines, team sizes, and your specific contribution to the bid lifecycle.

Show experience with Service Desk, ITSM, Cloud, Infrastructure, SOC/NOC, Security, Application Services, or IT Outsourcing using specific examples.

If you have developed SLAs, transition plans, pricing models, service catalogs, or MFA proposals, give these achievements prominence.

Certifications or practical experience involving ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, cloud frameworks, or IT governance can also strengthen your profile.

🎤 Interview Preparation

Expect questions testing your ability to manage complex bids, understand technology services, and coordinate multiple contributors.

Potential questions include:

  • How do you structure a bid from RFP receipt to final submission?

  • What factors influence a bid/no-bid decision?

  • How do you identify compliance gaps in an RFP?

  • How would you develop an SLA model for a Managed Services contract?

  • What should a strong Service Desk transition plan contain?

  • How do you coordinate technical and commercial contributors?

  • How would you handle conflicting information from different solution teams?

  • What makes a Managed Services proposal commercially compelling?

  • How do you ensure a proposal remains accurate when several teams contribute content?

  • What experience do you have with Master Framework Agreements?

  • How do ITIL or ISO frameworks influence Managed Services proposals?

Prepare examples showing how you managed deadlines, resolved conflicting requirements, improved proposal quality, and supported commercially significant opportunities.

📈 Career Growth

Experience in this position can support progression toward roles such as Senior Bid Manager, Bid Director, Presales Manager, Managed Services Solution Lead, Solution Architect, Commercial Director, or Head of Bid Management, depending on professional specialization and organizational structure.
