Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Development Engineer Level 2 to join its Engineering Technical Services Department in Doha. This full‑time role is critical to ensuring continuous airworthiness, fleet reliability, and safe recovery from technical disruptions. 💼 Key Responsibilities

Provide operational engineering support in line with approved Technical Services processes and authorizations

Act as the focal point for assigned aircraft defects, incidents, delays, and disruptions

Review technical logs, maintenance findings, and defect history to determine safe corrective actions

Support Line, Light, and Heavy Maintenance teams with technical guidance

Maintain accurate technical records, CRM cases, and engineering documentation

Assist in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery, coordinating with OEMs, MROs, and vendors
-
Evaluate recovery options against compliance, resources, and operational impact
-
Monitor deferred defects to ensure compliance with MEL, CDL, and regulatory requirements
-
Prepare engineering documents including approvals, instructions, and investigation reports
-
Review OEM and Design Organization outputs for accuracy and applicability
-
Monitor defect trends and contribute to predictive maintenance and reliability improvement

Support coaching and development of junior engineers and Qatari National Developees
🎯 Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical Engineering OR ICAO Type II License with minimum 4 years of job‑related experience

Experience in airworthiness, reliability, or technical support engineering within a continuing airworthiness maintenance organization

Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, power plant, and structures

Training on Airbus and/or Boeing aircraft types preferred

Experience using Airbus Technical Request and Boeing Service Request applications

Good understanding of company policies, procedures, and limitations
