This Automotive Technical Support Specialist role provides advanced technical support for vehicle diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and Fix-It-Right (FIR) activities. The position works closely with workshop teams, service advisors, quality testers, customers, and technical organizations to resolve complex automotive concerns and improve repair quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Fix-It-Right activities by investigating customer concerns and road-testing vehicles to identify technical problems.
- Perform root cause analysis and prepare field technical reports, service Kaizen reports, and internal technical reports.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and relevant technical support teams when standard service information is insufficient.
- Carry out advanced troubleshooting and repairs involving high-technology diagnostic procedures, difficult repairs, FIR, and non-FIR cases.
- Conduct on-site investigations and technical assessments for serious or unusual incidents, including fire hazards, airbag deployment or non-deployment, unintended vehicle acceleration, and other special cases.
- Apply Genchi Genbutsu principles when investigating complex technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance to workshop supervisors, service advisors, foremen, and quality testers.
- Respond to technical inquiries from branches by telephone and provide on-site assistance when necessary.
- Provide technical support and explanations to customers regarding vehicle-related concerns.
- Conduct quarterly development meetings for foremen and quality testers covering new vehicle features, Toyota campaigns, and service-related technical updates.
- Deliver technical training, demonstrations, presentations, and practical guidance to team members and customers when required.
- Attend technical certification and development training to maintain and strengthen diagnostic expertise.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma qualification.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant automotive experience.
