Job Description/Specification:


A leading LNG capital project in Qatar is seeking an experienced Contracts Lead to manage post-award contract activities for a multibillion EPCC contract. This role is critical to ensuring safe project delivery on time and within budget, while driving best-in-class contract management practices in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and contracting activities related to post-award contract management of the EPCC contract.

  • Support delivery of actions within the Value Protection Plan and manage contractual correspondence and changes.

  • Identify contractual risks and advise on mitigation strategies.

  • Contribute to commercial and contract performance reports for project leadership.

  • Collaborate with the Performance & Delivery Claims team to manage claims and disputes.

  • Maintain close relationships with PMT members, Legal, and Risk Management to resolve contract issues.

  • Coordinate contract evaluations and end-of-contract close-outs.

  • Ensure accuracy, initiative, and multitasking in a high-pressure project environment.

  • Drive continuous improvement and implement industry best practices in contract execution.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business-related functions, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas industry.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory or contractor oversight experience.

  • Hands-on experience managing contractors, drafting correspondence, managing change orders/variations, and providing contractual advice.

  • Experience in Lump Sum Major Energy Projects (post-award).

  • Strong influencing skills and business acumen.

  • Legal and dispute resolution experience is a plus.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.

  • Ability to balance quick wins with long-term strategic improvements.
