Job Description/Specification:
Wood is accepting expressions of interest for a Project Engineering Manager (Offshore) to join our team in Qatar. This role is responsible for leading the engineering portion of multi‑discipline scopes of work across offshore projects, ensuring technical excellence, safe operations, and successful delivery against HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget goals.
Responsibilities

Lead by example, promoting Wood’s values and commitment to safety and ethical behavior.

Drive technical assurance and compliance with corporate and client procedures.

Support incident investigations and embed lessons learned across projects.

Ensure continual focus on process safety and elimination of technical incidents.

Identify risks, improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions.

Manage and supervise multi‑discipline engineering teams, ensuring competency and resourcing.

Oversee recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning.

Develop engineering execution plans and manage project engineering activities.

Consult and negotiate with clients, prepare specifications, and present reports.

Resolve complex technical issues, conflicts, and facilitate agreements between stakeholders.

Implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering excellence.

Stay current with regulatory frameworks, legislation, and industry technology developments.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 15 years of experience in discipline engineering.

At least 5 years with Wood or legacy Wood companies.

EPCM contract experience is advantageous.

Strong balance of technical and management experience.

Supervisory experience with knowledge of human relations, training, and safety.

Broad knowledge of engineering theories and techniques with proven application in management.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.

Skilled in workforce planning, recruitment, and performance management.

Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry developments.

Expertise in engineering excellence, audits, and incident investigations.

Strong project management, mediation, and dispute resolution skills.

Financial and commercial awareness.
