Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical systems, installations, maintenance and engineering activities in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will ensure electrical works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved designs, technical standards, company procedures and applicable regulations.
This role is particularly suited to an experienced Kahramaa-approved Electrical Engineer with strong hands-on knowledge of LV panel maintenance, cable rectification, electrical troubleshooting and emergency complaint handling. The position will also involve coordinating contractors and suppliers and managing a small technical team.
About This Role
The Electrical Engineer will supervise electrical installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance activities while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review and oversee electrical systems, installations and maintenance activities.
- Supervise electrical installation, testing, commissioning and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, layouts, specifications and technical documents.
- Inspect electrical works for compliance with approved designs, standards and safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Perform LV panel maintenance, cable rectification and electrical troubleshooting.
- Respond to and resolve urgent and emergency electrical complaints.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers and other engineering teams.
- Monitor electrical project progress, quality and completion.
- Review electrical material requirements, equipment specifications and selections.
- Coordinate with Kahramaa and support related approvals and technical requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports, technical reports, maintenance records and other documentation.
- Monitor electrical equipment and systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Support budgeting, cost estimation and procurement of electrical materials when required.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and maintenance personnel.
- Manage and coordinate a 5-member technical team.
- Ensure all electrical activities comply with company procedures, electrical codes and applicable safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, facilities or maintenance.
- Strong practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting.
- Qatar/GCC experience is an advantage.
Licensing & Approvals
- Kahramaa-approved/licensed Electrical Engineer.
- Valid Qatar Driving License.
- Previous experience coordinating with Kahramaa is required.
Technical Skills
