Job Description/Specification:


AECOM is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the planning, scheduling, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of airport construction and fit-out projects in Qatar. This role is critical to ensuring project activities are properly planned, progress is tracked, delays are identified, and corrective actions are implemented to achieve successful project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of airport projects.

  • Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, baseline programmes, lookahead programmes, and progress trackers.

  • Monitor planned vs. actual progress, identifying delays, critical activities, and schedule risks.

  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to collect updates and follow up on pending activities.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries.

  • Document meeting minutes, maintain action trackers, and ensure timely closure of stakeholder commitments.

  • Monitor critical path, milestones, deliverables, and key interfaces.

  • Assist in preparing recovery programmes and mitigation plans for delayed activities.

  • Coordinate with Document Control to ensure accurate tracking of submissions and approvals.

  • Provide regular schedule and progress updates to the Project Manager and senior management.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.

  • 7–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within construction, infrastructure, or airport projects.

  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, progress monitoring, and critical path analysis.

  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and management presentations.

  • Proven ability to coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and data analysis.

  • Airport or major infrastructure project experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and follow-up skills.
