Traffic Engineer

Job Description/Specification:

Parsons is looking for a highly skilled Traffic Engineer to join its project site team in Qatar. This role is critical to ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow around construction sites, minimizing disruption to the public, and supporting smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage traffic operations on-site to ensure safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and construction equipment.

• Develop and implement traffic management plans in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

• Design and oversee installation of temporary traffic control devices such as signs, barriers, and signals.

• Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to secure permits and approvals.

• Monitor traffic flow and respond to incidents or disruptions quickly to minimize impact.

• Conduct site inspections to verify proper implementation of traffic management measures.

• Prepare and review traffic control layouts aligned with project design and safety standards.

• Analyze traffic patterns and recommend adjustments to improve safety and efficiency.

• Collaborate with construction teams to schedule lane closures, detours, and disruptions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in traffic engineering for construction projects.

• Proven expertise in traffic management plans and control layouts.

• Experience with temporary traffic control measures such as barricades, signage, and diversions.

• Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and work zone safety standards.

• Experience coordinating with authorities and regulatory agencies for permits and approvals.

• Fluent in English with strong technical writing and communication skills.

• Proven track record of leading traffic management on large-scale projects.

• MME certification required.
