Job Description/Specification:
Egis, a global leader in engineering and consulting, is seeking an experienced Structures Inspector to join its long-term project in Doha, Qatar. This role is central to ensuring the safety, serviceability, and structural integrity of bridges and highway assets across the country’s strategic network.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of bridges, footbridges, flyovers, tunnels, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts, and other highway structures.

Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.

Utilize Asset Management System (MAXIMO) to manage and close out work orders and service requests efficiently.
-
Maintain accurate records in the Bridge Management System (BMS), including inventory, inspection reports, and performance data.

Perform safety, general, principal, and special inspections with detailed reporting and recommendations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize operations and maintenance.

Ensure compliance with UK-based standards and Qatar-specific regulations.

Contribute to advancements in inspection technologies and maintenance practices.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience in highway structures inspections.

Proven experience in operations and maintenance contracts for bridges and highway structures.

Strong understanding of structural behavior and deterioration mechanisms in concrete, steel, composite, and prestressed structures.

Knowledge of bridge asset management, condition assessment, and lifecycle planning.

Experience with MAXIMO and Bridge Management Systems (BMS).

Familiarity with structural analysis, load rating, and assessment of existing structures.

Knowledge of UK Inspection Manual, UK DMRB, Qatar QRMM, and other relevant standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage risk-based inspection programs.

Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate reports.

Effective communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
