Qatar University is seeking qualified and academically accomplished Faculty Members to contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, student advising, and university service. About This Role
Faculty Members are responsible for fulfilling instructional and academic advising duties in accordance with university policies and procedures. The position also involves developing courses and curricula, conducting research, publishing scholarly work, supporting students, and providing professional service to the University and wider community.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Student Advising
- Deliver courses using effective and engaging teaching methods.
- Fulfill assigned teaching, assessment, and student advising responsibilities.
- Prepare up-to-date reports related to teaching activities and academic advising.
- Develop appropriate assessment methods and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching programs.
Curriculum & Academic Development
- Participate in course and curriculum development.
- Contribute to academic and program development initiatives.
- Support improvements in teaching delivery, learning outcomes, and assessment practices.
- Consider equal opportunity and inclusive learning principles in teaching activities.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of knowledge within the discipline.
- Develop research projects and demonstrate potential for publication in leading academic journals.
- Participate in scholarly activities that enhance professional and academic development.
University & Community Service
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as required.
- Provide professional services to the University and the wider community.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and academic stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in a relevant academic discipline.
- Recognized expertise or authority in the relevant subject area.
- Strong understanding of the candidate's academic specialization and its current developments.
- Demonstrated research capability and potential for high-quality scholarly publications.
- Evidence of effective university-level teaching and student engagement.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development and academic program delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong planning, organization, time management, and deadline-management skills.
