Job Description/Specification:
Drawlines Consult is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Modeler to join its BIM and CAD design team. The role involves developing, updating, and maintaining accurate Electrical BIM Models throughout the project lifecycle, supporting construction documentation, shop drawings, fabrication, quantity take-offs, and BIM-based project delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with BIM Coordinators, Electrical Engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure models meet project requirements, contain accurate parameters and information, and are delivered within required quality and schedule standards.
About This Role
This position is ideal for an experienced Electrical BIM professional with strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit and practical experience developing electrical models for AEC and MEP projects. The candidate should be capable of converting contract drawings and project information into coordinated, accurate, and construction-ready BIM deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and revise Electrical BIM Models throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop BIM models based on contract drawings, approved design information, and the latest project revisions.
- Maintain model integrity, accuracy, quality, parameters, and required attributes.
- Generate BIM-based shop drawings and construction documentation.
- Produce model deliverables for construction, fabrication, documentation, and project coordination.
- Develop models with appropriate parameters and data to support BIM-based quantity take-offs and 4D simulation.
- Review drawings and models to identify discrepancies, design conflicts, and coordination issues.
- Highlight modeling and design issues to BIM Coordinators for resolution.
- Incorporate approved design changes and revisions into the BIM model.
- Coordinate with BIM Coordinators and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure consistent model development.
- Ensure BIM deliverables are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical BIM Modeling.
- Proven experience working on electrical BIM/MEP projects within the AEC industry.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Practical experience preparing electrical BIM models and shop drawings.
- Good understanding of BIM workflows, model parameters, attributes, and construction documentation.
- Ability to identify model discrepancies and coordinate issues with BIM teams.
- Ability to deliver accurate models and shop drawings within required timelines.
- GCC project experience is an advantage.
