Job Description/Specification:
Mind Stream is hiring an experienced QA/QC Engineer for a buildings project in Qatar, specializing in Aluminium and Glazing Works. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting installation and completed works, verifying materials, monitoring quality compliance, and ensuring all activities meet approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
This is a 2-month contract, with potential for extension based on project requirements and performance. The role requires strong hands-on experience in aluminium and glazing quality inspection, NCR management, snagging, defect close-out, and consultant-facing QA/QC documentation.
About This Role
The QA/QC Engineer will work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and project management to identify quality issues at an early stage and ensure timely corrective action. Strong technical reporting and documentation skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aluminium and glazing installations against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
- Conduct incoming material inspections for aluminium profiles, glazing units, fixings, hardware, sealants, and accessories.
- Verify material compliance with approved submittals and project specifications.
- Review and implement relevant Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality procedures.
- Raise, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective or non-compliant works.
- Conduct snagging and defect inspections, clearly documenting defect locations and required corrective actions.
- Carry out follow-up inspections to verify satisfactory rectification and close-out.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, test records, checklists, and photographic documentation.
- Maintain accurate QA/QC records and ensure documentation is properly controlled.
- Prepare professional, consultant-acceptable QA/QC reports and formal correspondence.
- Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and maintain project standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Engineering Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience in QA/QC for Aluminium & Glazing Works.
- Strong knowledge of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and inspection procedures.
- Experience in aluminium profiles, curtain wall, glazing, doors, windows, façades, fixings, and related accessories is preferred.
- Practical experience with material inspection and approval.
- Strong experience raising and managing NCRs, snagging, defect inspections, and close-out activities.
- Good written communication and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to prepare professional correspondence for consultants and project stakeholders.
- Qatar construction/buildings project experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and complete inspections and documentation within project deadlines.
