Job Description/Specification:

Mind Stream is hiring a Planning Engineer for a 6-month construction project in Wakrah, Qatar. The role will focus on developing and controlling the baseline programme for a tanks-focused construction package, covering concrete works, pits and sumps, embedded steel, metal works, epoxy coating, painting, leak testing, chemical disinfection, and underground/aboveground piping.

The successful candidate will manage project schedules, monitor progress against the approved baseline, identify critical-path risks, and coordinate recovery actions to maintain project milestones and completion targets.

About This Role

You will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, critical-path analysis, look-ahead planning, and client-facing progress reporting. Strong experience with Primavera P6, construction planning, S-curves, resource loading, and baseline programme management is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed pour-sequence logic covering formwork, reinforcement, curing periods, and embedded-steel installation.
  • Manage critical QA/QC hold points for tank leak testing and chemical disinfection.
  • Prepare rolling 2–4 week look-ahead schedules and monitor planned versus actual progress.
  • Measure physical progress and prepare S-curves, milestone reports, forecasts, and management/client progress reports.
  • Perform critical-path and float analysis to identify delays and potential schedule risks.
  • Develop recovery plans and coordinate sequencing between tank ring drains, UG piping, PC installation, concrete, and metal works.
  • Update schedules for epoxy coating and painting works following structural completion.
  • Monitor material deliveries, manpower, equipment, and resource loading against programme requirements.
  • Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, engineering, and subcontractor teams to identify and resolve schedule clashes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in construction planning and project scheduling.
  • Hands-on experience with baseline programme development, progress measurement, and schedule control.
  • Experience with tank construction, concrete works, piping, or related infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Experience managing pour sequences, curing periods, and construction hold points.
  • Ability to conduct critical-path analysis and prepare S-curves and progress reports.
  • Understanding of QA/QC release requirements for leak testing and chemical disinfection.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills for client-facing project reviews.
  • Immediate availability is required.
