Job Description/Specification:
Egis is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Site Engineer – Landfill Lining Works to join its project team in Doha, Qatar. The role will be responsible for supervising civil construction activities, with a specific focus on landfill lining works and related infrastructure.
The successful candidate will ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, safety standards, and project schedules while coordinating effectively with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
About This Role
The incumbent will provide day-to-day site supervision of civil construction and landfill lining works, monitor contractor performance, verify work quality, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Previous experience in landfill construction and lining systems will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor landfill lining works and associated civil construction activities.
- Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Inspect ongoing works and verify materials, workmanship, and installation quality.
- Monitor contractor activities, progress, resources, and compliance with approved construction procedures.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, engineers, and other project stakeholders to resolve site issues.
- Identify construction deviations, technical issues, and quality concerns and report them to the relevant project management team.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection documentation, progress reports, and other project records.
- Support quality control and ensure compliance with applicable HSE and construction standards.
- Monitor project progress and assist in ensuring activities are completed according to schedule.
- Perform other site supervision duties related to the project as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and acceptable to the Engineer.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of demonstrable experience supervising civil construction projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in projects involving landfill lining works.
- Previous experience in landfill construction is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of civil construction supervision, quality control, site coordination, and contractor management.
