Job Description/Specification:
Sigma Contracting & Trading W.l.l is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager – Site with strong expertise in Aluminium, Curtain Wall, Cladding, Glazing, and Façade works to lead the execution of major building façade projects.
The successful candidate will manage projects from planning and procurement through fabrication, delivery, site installation, testing, snagging, completion, and handover, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, budgets, HSE requirements, and client expectations.
About This Role
The Project Manager will provide overall technical, commercial, and operational leadership for façade projects, coordinating clients, consultants, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, fabricators, and internal project teams.
The role requires extensive practical knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminium cladding, ACP, glazing, louvers, skylights, doors and windows, as well as strong experience in façade design coordination, fabrication, installation, testing, programme control, cost management, and project close-out.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the complete execution of Aluminium, Curtain Wall, Cladding, and Façade projects from commencement through handover.
- Establish and monitor project execution programmes and ensure façade activities meet key milestones.
- Manage planning, procurement, fabrication, material delivery, installation, testing, snagging, and final handover.
- Monitor manpower, productivity, materials, equipment, fabrication, logistics, deliveries, and installation progress.
- Identify and resolve technical, construction, coordination, and interface issues affecting project delivery.
- Prepare and review progress reports, forecasts, productivity reports, and management updates.
Technical & Design Coordination
- Review architectural and structural drawings, shop drawings, calculations, material submittals, samples, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate façade systems with structural, architectural, MEP, waterproofing, finishes, tolerances, and building movement requirements.
- Ensure façade designs and installations comply with approved requirements and applicable technical standards.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, NCRs, site observations, variations, and construction-related issues.
- Ensure installation follows approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
Façade Systems & Performance
- Oversee installation of:
- Unitized and stick curtain wall systems
- Aluminium doors and windows
- ACP and aluminium cladding
- Structural glazing and façade systems
- Louvers and architectural screens
- Skylights and glazing systems
- Sealants, gaskets, brackets, anchors, flashings, and waterproofing interfaces
- Ensure required façade performance for air infiltration, water tightness, wind loads, structural integrity, thermal performance, movement, deflection, joints, and weather sealing.
- Coordinate mock-ups, inspections, performance testing, third-party testing, and approvals as required.
Site, Quality & HSE Management
- Ensure site installation is executed safely and according to approved quality requirements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain project standards and compliance.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance against programme, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
- Ensure proper inspection, testing, snagging, rectification, and closure of outstanding works.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Coordinate with commercial teams regarding BOQs, variations, claims, material costs, subcontractor payments, and cost control.
- Monitor project costs and identify potential commercial risks.
- Support value engineering and cost-optimization initiatives without compromising quality or façade performance.
- Monitor commitments, variations, claims, and supplier/subcontractor performance.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, structural engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, authorities, and internal departments.
- Lead and supervise project managers, site engineers, façade engineers, supervisors, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and other project personnel.
- Conduct regular project progress and coordination meetings and ensure timely closure of actions.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with key project stakeholders.
Completion & Handover
- Manage final testing, inspections, snagging, rectification, and project close-out.
- Ensure completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, test certificates, approvals, and handover documentation.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved programme, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager position managing façade, aluminium, curtain wall, cladding, or glazing projects.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale building and façade projects from commencement through completion and handover.
- Strong practical experience in aluminium, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and façade construction.
- Experience coordinating façade works with architectural, structural, MEP, waterproofing, and other building disciplines.

Standards & Compliance

- Strong awareness of HSE, quality, inspection, testing, and authority requirements.
Certifications & Licensing
- MMUP/UPDA registration is preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
