Intelligent Metal for Metal Construction WLL is seeking an experienced Technical Office Engineer to support structural steel projects from engineering and fabrication through site execution. The successful candidate will coordinate technical drawings, material requirements, documentation, and engineering queries between Engineering, Production, QA/QC, and Site teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, shop drawings, AutoCAD, material take-offs, drawing revisions, and technical documentation, with the ability to resolve technical issues and ensure accurate information is available for production and site teams.

About This Role

The Technical Office Engineer will be responsible for reviewing project drawings and specifications, preparing fabrication-related documents, coordinating shop drawings and revisions, and supporting the smooth execution of structural steel projects. The role requires strong attention to detail and effective coordination across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare structural steel shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical requirements for fabrication.
  • Coordinate technical requirements between Engineering, Production, QA/QC, and Site teams.
  • Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTO), cutting lists, and fabrication documentation.
  • Prepare, submit, track, and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
  • Manage drawing revisions and ensure the latest approved drawings are issued for production.
  • Support project planning and coordinate fabrication requirements with relevant departments.
  • Assist with technical problem-solving during fabrication and site execution.
  • Review drawings and technical information for accuracy and constructability.
  • Maintain drawing registers, technical records, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Provide technical support to production and site teams as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, steel construction, or a related industry.
  • Strong practical experience preparing and reviewing structural steel shop and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience with structural steel materials, fabrication processes, erection, and construction methods.
  • GCC or Qatar project experience is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • AutoCAD – strong working knowledge required.
  • Tekla Structures – experience is an advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically competent, and capable of coordinating effectively with engineering, production, QA/QC, and site teams. Candidates with experience in structural steel fabrication projects in Qatar or the GCC will be preferred.

Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and technical problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
