Job Description/Specification:
Egis is seeking an experienced Structures Inspector – Bridges & Highway Structures O&M to join its team in Doha, Qatar. This long-term opportunity is suited to a civil or structural engineering professional with practical experience in the inspection, assessment, maintenance, and asset management of bridges and highway structures.
The position involves supporting the safe and reliable operation of strategic highway structures across Qatar. The successful candidate will inspect structural assets, identify deterioration and risks, prepare technical reports, and ensure inspection and maintenance activities meet contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and applicable standards.
Structures Inspector Job Overview
The Structures Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring a wide range of highway structural assets. These may include bridges, footbridges, flyovers, interchanges, iconic structures, tunnels, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts, monuments, and other associated infrastructure.
The role combines field inspections with asset management, condition assessment, technical reporting, risk management, and coordination with multidisciplinary operations and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Structures Inspector will be responsible for:
- Carry out inspections of bridges and highway structures to assess structural condition, safety, deterioration, and serviceability.
- Conduct safety, general, principal, and special inspections as required.
- Identify structural deterioration, defects, and potential safety risks.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and recommend appropriate maintenance or corrective actions.
- Ensure inspection and maintenance activities comply with contractual requirements, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Support the effective management and closure of Work Orders (WOs) and Service Requests (SRs).
- Maintain accurate structural asset information within the Asset Management System.
- Ensure reliable use of MAXIMO or comparable Enterprise Asset Management systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory, inspection, condition, and performance information within the Bridge Management System (BMS).
- Support condition assessment and monitoring of structural assets across the highway network.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate operations and maintenance activities.
- Support risk-based inspection programs and help prioritize maintenance requirements.
- Contribute to improvements in bridge inspection technologies, maintenance techniques, and asset management practices.
- Ensure technical deliverables are accurate and completed to the required standards.
- Travel frequently throughout Qatar for inspections, maintenance activities, and other site requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

Standards and Technical Knowledge
Candidates should have knowledge of standards and guidance used for structural inspection and maintenance in Qatar, particularly those based on UK practices.
Relevant knowledge may include the UK Inspection Manual, UK DMRB, Qatar Roadway Quality Management Manual (QRMM), and other applicable structural inspection and maintenance standards.
