Job Description/Specification:


We are seeking an experienced Treasury Manager to oversee treasury operations, cash management, banking activities, trade finance, financial reconciliations, and treasury-related controls. The role is responsible for implementing treasury policies and strategies, optimizing cash flows, safeguarding company assets, and providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management.

The successful candidate will manage treasury risks, ensure compliance with banking and regulatory requirements, support financial audits, and identify opportunities to improve treasury processes through automation and emerging financial technologies.

About This Role

The Treasury Manager will manage daily cash and bank balances, treasury accounting, reconciliations, incoming receipts, Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, post-dated cheques (PDCs), cashiering controls, and treasury reporting.

The position requires close collaboration with Finance Management and business units to resolve operational challenges, improve treasury efficiency, minimize costs, and maintain strong internal controls in accordance with AAM policies, IFRS, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Manage daily cash positions, bank balances, and cash flow requirements.
  • Analyze treasury information and communicate recommendations to senior Finance Management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize liquidity, minimize costs, and safeguard financial assets.
  • Manage incoming receipts accounting and ensure accurate treasury transaction processing.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and reliable treasury services to internal and external stakeholders.

Banking & Trade Finance

  • Manage banking operations and ensure compliance with Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and applicable banking and legal requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate controls over banking stationery and related documentation.
  • Monitor and control PDCs and cash holdings across all AAM locations.
  • Ensure proper cash and PDC counts are conducted and reports are submitted to management.
  • Coordinate with relevant business units and banking partners to resolve treasury-related issues.

Reconciliations & Accounting

  • Review and approve POS transaction reconciliation processes and support automation initiatives.
  • Ensure all cash and bank reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and signed off accurately.
  • Ensure treasury-related transactions are properly accounted for in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage monthly treasury accounting closing activities and reconciliations in line with established KPIs.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls are consistently implemented.
  • Ensure all Treasury Team members comply with the cashiering manual and established procedures.
  • Manage quarterly, half-yearly, and annual treasury audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and financial information.
  • Identify treasury risks and implement appropriate controls to mitigate operational and financial exposure.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Identify opportunities to automate treasury and reconciliation processes.
  • Support the adoption of emerging treasury technologies in line with AAM guidelines.
  • Work with Finance Management and business units to improve operational efficiency and develop practical solutions to treasury challenges.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Finance is preferred.

Professional Qualifications:

  • ACA, FCCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) certification is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of managerial experience in Treasury, Cash Management, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in treasury operations, bank reconciliation, trade finance, financial controls, and audit coordination is preferred.

Experience in implementing treasury automation and adopting technology-driven financial processes will be highly valued.
