Job Description/Specification:


We are seeking a skilled Automotive Paint Mixer / Paint Mixing Technician to support vehicle body repair and refinishing operations. The role is responsible for accurately mixing automotive paints, toners, solvents, hardeners, primers, and clearcoats to achieve the required color, shade, consistency, and application specifications.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience with computerized paint-mixing systems, digital color-matching equipment, and automotive refinishing materials, along with strong attention to detail and inventory control skills.

About This Role

The Automotive Paint Mixer will prepare and issue paint materials according to vehicle repair requirements and active job cards. The position requires accurate color matching, safe handling of paint chemicals, proper operation of mixing equipment, and effective management of paint supplies and consumables.

The technician will work closely with the workshop and body repair teams to ensure the correct materials are available for each repair while maintaining quality, safety, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use digital spectrophotometers and computerized color-matching software to identify and accurately match factory paint codes.
  • Measure, mix, and tint paint toners, hardeners, thinners, and solvents according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate automated paint-mixing machines and digital weighing scales accurately.
  • Prepare the correct paint shade, color, viscosity, and consistency required for each vehicle repair.
  • Verify and issue paints, primers, clearcoats, and consumables strictly against the relevant Job Card.
  • Operate paint agitator equipment at the beginning of each shift and shut it down according to supplier recommendations.
  • Maintain paint mixing machines and ensure they remain clean, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of paint materials and consumables.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and submit accurate stock reports to the direct supervisor.
  • Follow company policies, workshop procedures, health and safety requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Handle paint materials and chemicals safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and compliance with assigned workshop shifts and break schedules.
  • Coordinate with workshop and body repair teams to ensure paint materials are prepared and available on time.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Minimum High School qualification.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in automotive paint mixing, vehicle refinishing, body repair, or a related workshop environment.

Knowledge:

  • Automotive paint mixing and color matching.
  • Paint toners, hardeners, thinners, primers, and clearcoats.
  • Computerized paint-mixing systems and digital scales.
  • Automotive manufacturer paint codes and refinishing processes.
  • Paint material inventory and consumable control.
