Job Description/Specification:
Al Abdulghani Motors is seeking an experienced Vehicle Inspector / Automotive Appraiser to inspect and evaluate vehicles for potential purchase. The successful candidate will assess the mechanical, electrical, structural, exterior, interior and safety condition of vehicles and provide accurate vehicle valuation and repair cost estimates to support the Purchase Department in making informed buying decisions.
The role requires strong automotive technical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to identify defects, assess repair requirements and estimate associated parts and labour costs. Experience in vehicle inspection, diagnostics, used-car appraisal or repair estimation is highly relevant.
About This Role
The Vehicle Inspector will conduct detailed physical inspections, test drives and visual assessments of vehicles. The position will involve documenting vehicle condition through photographs and inspection reports and working closely with technicians and mechanics to validate repair requirements and costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-purchase vehicle inspections covering mechanical, electrical, structural, interior, exterior and safety components.
- Perform detailed visual inspections and test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and overall condition.
- Take photographs and document the condition of vehicles to support accurate valuation and purchasing decisions.
- Identify and record mechanical defects, accident damage, electrical issues, wear and tear and safety concerns.
- Assess the extent of required repairs, maintenance and replacement of parts.
- Prepare accurate estimates for parts, labour and additional repair costs.
- Collaborate with automotive technicians, mechanics and other specialists to validate inspection findings and repair estimates.
- Provide detailed inspection reports including vehicle condition, identified defects, recommended repairs and estimated costs.
- Support the Purchase Department by providing accurate technical information for used-vehicle purchasing and valuation.
- Ensure vehicle inspections and cost estimates comply with applicable automotive standards, regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, photographs, estimates and repair requirements.
- Identify potential safety or regulatory concerns that could affect vehicle purchase decisions.
- Support continuous improvement of vehicle inspection and appraisal processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in vehicle inspection, automotive diagnostics, repair estimation, used-car appraisal or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, structural and safety systems.
- Experience assessing used vehicles and estimating repair and refurbishment costs is preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be technically strong, detail-oriented and commercially aware, with the ability to accurately assess vehicle condition and translate inspection findings into realistic repair and valuation estimates.
Strong reporting skills, sound automotive judgement and the ability to work with technicians and the Purchase Department are essential. Experience in used-car dealerships, vehicle auctions, automotive workshops or fleet operations will be an advantage.
License Requirement
- Valid Qatar or GCC Driving License is required.
