Job Description/Specification:
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer / SAP Technical Specialist to support the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of SAP ERP solutions across the organization. The role will focus on SAP S/4HANA, SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori and SAP UI5, delivering scalable technical solutions that address business requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with Solution Design and Delivery Leads and Business Solution Analysts to understand business needs, prepare technical specifications and develop effective SAP solutions. The role also includes technical support, system integration, application enhancements and deployment across the IT landscape.
About This Role
The SAP ABAP Developer will be responsible for developing and supporting SAP applications while helping modernize the organization’s ERP environment through SAP’s latest UI and cloud technologies. The position requires strong hands-on development expertise and the ability to translate functional requirements into reliable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and design appropriate SAP technical solutions.
- Develop and implement SAP solutions using ABAP, SAP UI5 and Fiori technologies.
- Prepare technical specifications based on business requirements and solution designs.
- Develop and maintain ABAP reports, ALV, charts, Data Dictionary objects, user exits, enhancements, BAdIs, BAPIs, RFCs and BTEs.
- Apply ABAP Object-Oriented Programming principles to SAP development.
- Develop and deploy custom SAP Fiori and UI5 applications using OData and SAP Cloud technologies.
- Configure and develop SAP Portal/UI5 applications using relevant development platforms and technologies.
- Support integration with external systems using SAP Process Integration (PI) and related interfaces.
- Develop BDC programs using SHDB and function modules, as well as custom dialog programs.
- Develop SAP print forms using Smart Forms, Adobe Interactive Forms and other applicable technologies.
- Implement and configure SAP Fiori applications, including roles, catalogs, groups and custom extensions.
- Develop UI5 prototypes and conduct testing within SAP Cloud environments.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and enhancements for existing SAP ECC/SAP ERP systems.
- Prepare test plans and automated testing scripts to validate solution quality and performance.
- Support SAP system development, maintenance, upgrades and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with SAP technologies, digital transformation trends and emerging development practices.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong experience with SAP ERP/SAP S/4HANA development and maintenance.
- Practical experience developing SAP Fiori and UI5 applications.
- Experience with SAP integrations and external system interfaces.
- Strong understanding of SAP technical development and enhancement frameworks.
